    Round 10

Shishkin is teeing off with the right hand, ostensibly as part of a 1-2 but the jab is a non-factor and never comes even close to landing (and isn't even really contributing much to set up the right, which is smashing through Sierra's guard whether Shishkin jabs first - or even has a look and takes careful aim with it - or not). Sierra is curling his body up tight, drifting around in semicircles and then moving in to clinch. Shishkin pelting him with rights to body (finally!) and head but it seems like Sierra, who steps in with the occasional chopping right to disguise his clinching attempts, is going to make it.

    10-9 Shishkin

    99-91 Shishkin

Alright, guess we should've known Sierra isn't total garbage if Kovalev chose him for a sparring partner. :nusenuse: Now we know that was because he's good for at least soaking up power shots reliably for several rounds. (although I'm sure Krusher never went close to a hundred percent on him)

I worry about Shishkin's ring IQ, a body attack could have got rid of Sierra around the 7th, and at 28 years old after 250 am fights & 10 pro fights to not have a usable left hook is worrisome.

The co-feature was disappointing because it ended so quickly (I had expected that Estrella would last a bit longer and maybe put up a slight challenge for Ergashev) and the main event was disappointing because it went the distance.

But this near-shutout performance, while not thrill-a-minute nor quite living up to Shishkin's hype, was still far more pleasurable to watch than O'Quinn's in the show opener despite Sierra being a lot more negative and uncooperative than Vásquez.

Sierra had a massive melon head, a good tight guard and fought negatively and in spurts trying to catch Shishkin with a sneaky shot. To be fair he did land some heavy looking right hands. Shishkin dominated but he needed to punch in combination more and throw the left hook instead of going right hand crazy all the time

Edit: Farhood said Shishkin might have been carrying an injury to his left arm going in.

Yeah, or even an uppercut to break up the monotony.

Not even like he specializes in being a 1-2 artist (many greats have done so, including Kronk forebears like Wlad K.) ; his jab tonight sucked. Literally just the right hand.

The reason why I wasn't commenting all that much, aside from my wisecracks, is because I was eating this bad mother****er right here. Chik-Fil-A and KFC ain't got nothing on my chicken sandwich.:deal:

I agree. He has a way to go to compete with the top guys in the division. I would like to see him up against maybe a David Lemieux type guy. A dangerous yet flawed type. He definitely has potential.
