He has 23" arms, but for some of his older tale of the tapes in the lower weight divisions it was measured as 25". I AZZked what was going, and people explained that when you put on muscle your arm length gets shorter. How does that work?:huh
Good point. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11Yig-ob51g&feature=related"]YouTube - Manny Pacquiao vs. Narongrit Pirang (1 of 5)[/ame] Here he is listed as 5'5 1/2" with 24 1/2" arms. That reminds me that Sugar Ray Leonard in an interview said he was 5'9", even though he's been listed as 5'10", 5'10 1/2", and 5'11.
pacquiao, hamed, marciano are some that needed space to unload and werent exactly inside fighters. trinidad did like fighting on the inside and out I don't know what his reach was, but he always gave me the impression he didn't have long arms for being almost 6 feet and aside from that he had very thin, unmuscular arms, but man he could bang with the best of them and he had alot of pop in his punches. seems to me he probably got his power mostly from leverage, hips, shoulders, and back. he reminded me of a t-rex.
hm.. AA has short arms but he also doesn't outbox anyone! lol seriously, Sturm has an average or below average span but fought early almost completely outside. Now he also likes to come in close, especially if the other guys have reach advantage. But probably the best example would be Kostya Tzu. Now you may say he was not outboxing them but knocking them out, but I'd disagree. He would also outboxed them by timing them perfectly, but he also had a huge punch. He was a really really good boxer.
David Lemieux's having great sucess for now...But we'll see when he steps up even more...One of the shortest-armed boxer I've seen...
I think he's got an average arms for a MW at best, he's a midget as SMW and his wing span is among the shortest from all SMW contenders.
