Thanks. Great quote from Teddy Atlas last night (well it was Cus D'Amato's): Do the hard part and make him miss, then do the fun part and hit him.

You might not have asked about weight, but it's pretty obvious that's a factor in your situation.
Being in the proper weight range will put you in with the appropriate sparring partners.
You'll still find yourself with tall fighters at a lower weight, but hopefully by then you'll be lighter on your toes and much faster.
Would be nice if you gave more info. about what kind of advice you're seeking though.

Bro the best weight class for you is one that u feel confortable with.
Usually i like fighting in a lighter division, cause im not struggling with weights, so that i can make better use of my body, most likely your opponent will have the same measures as you.

you could always lose a few pounds, its not like you're a ripped monster at the weight you're at now. Usually the lower the weight the better, i mean the only person who made it work was the guy in you're avatar, and trust me there is no other mike tyson and will never be. 5'6 at 185 you'll find yourself having fits with guys who really know how to use there length not saying its impossible but it's pretty hurting mentally when you can't get inside.

I know what you're saying. Just wanted to see if anyone had advice and it turned into a weight discussion, that's all. I'll get down as low as I can, don't get me wrong, but regardless, I'll always be fighting taller guys.

oh if so, then push the guy to the ropes not litteraly but by using your jab and power, go for body shots to limit his movement. Also some guys let there emotions get to them so they'll start to play into you're game.

    perfect example!

i was 5'8 170 and could possibly get myself to the old amateur light middleweight limit. but it was a seroius thing. i dont believe hieght rules. just use your hieght appropriataly.
most important thing is to not become a obvious swarmer it's exactly what a taller guy wants. high workrate and good quick solid fotwork. get the guy to trade with you. be able to use a back foot because if they start to move towards you you can met them halfway.

and for the love of **** DONT forget your jab.

work the angles from the side. get around them. either get low or go for them and outmuscle them.

5'1 bantamwieght napa is a legend. from the looks of a patchy record is a great technician underneath.
