https://youtube.com/shorts/1pRO8ufYzjE?feature=share Canelo really didnt know how to respond here. Enjoy folks.
That was a really **** link they put up. Bivol landed f all there. They should have posted the one where he was properly teeing off and landing on Clens head
It was a great counter punch by Bivol that backed Canelo up and on to the ropes himself. While Canelo blocked and slipped most of those shots, some of those did land and you gotta give Bivol credit there. Bivol is a very accurate puncher as evidenced there, even when Canelo was slipping and sliding to take the sting off them, Bivol just kept his hands flowing and moving in combination, something's going to land when you throw that many accurate punches as a time.
Nothing landed there. When mayweather does it you all give him the round. This is why I stand by my 7 - 5 bivol score and also could see 6 - 6 draw
Defended himself capably. Lack of response/return fire can be attributed to the obvious fact that he was blowing out his ass at that point in the fight.
Pastor Dmitry was in first gear from 1-4 but then he opted to slip into second from round 5 to 8 and started to assert himself more and let the combinations go in order to let Clen know that he was the boss in there and that he was in control. And in the championship rounds he even stood nose to nose with Clen right in the range Clen wanted him and needed him to be and he even bossed and bullied him at that range too. But he never really moved out of second and third gear all night. Don't be fooled by the amiable exterior, Pastor Dmitry is a dog and if you catch him with a good shot or have a brief moment of success he'll instinctively fire right back or he'll even slip into fifth or sixth gear sometimes letting the rapid combinations fly thick and fast to put you back in your place. He never allowed the occasion to get to him or Clen to intimidate him or be the boss in there. He might have been the B side, fighting on enemy territory on hostile turf on a deck stacked heavily against him, but he was as as cool as a cucumber all week and had full conviction he was going to win. When Captain Jean-Luc Pascal got in his face at the weigh in Pastor Dmitry was having none of it and he stood his ground, letting Pascal know that he wasn't going to be intimidated and that he better be prepared for that Eurasian heat he was bringing. So many spots Bivol could have had free roam on this midget desperate for a breather but he fought conservative. If it was Fury he'd have put his weight on the ginger hypejob there raked his guard then pummelled him with a left hook into oblivion.
