True. Strange what different boxing people see-I often sat in the Stadium (Mecca of Boxing in Ireland) and heard/offered such different/informed/honest opinions on boxers, strange but great.

I rank Schmeling and Patterson slightly ahead of Walcott and Charles. Sharkey, Baer and Moore would be next, ahead of Tunney. Then Braddock and Carnera.

I don´t think so. He isn´t often discussed but when he is spoken of than only highly. He is very respected and get´s very high ranked from what I saw.

I think much of Tunney. I just don´t think much of his hw career. Too short, too less (meaningful) fights.

The gap between Max and Jack isn´t big. It´s just that I think Walcott and Charles should be above Sharkey and behind Schmeling. But there is not much between them. IMO Patterson, Schmeling, Walcott, Charles, Sharkey, Baer and Moore are in roughly the same bracket. You can put him in nearly any order you want, the only constant thing I see is that Schmeling woul always be pretty high and Moore pretty low.

Oh I agree in a way, anybody with a brain knows he's good.
However here he is on a low profile moment, it comes around. The likes of this discussion changes things.
If you watch Walker, you cant say the top middleweights around hammer him, not that I'm saying he strolls through them either, but he is good fundamentally and his desire and toughness is without doubting.

Walker would be able to hold his own against and make it tough for everyone at ww, mw and lhw. And he has good chances against many of them.
