Ali, I would say. Because Tyson was so mentally frail, Ali would be able to take what Tyson had and frustrate him. **** fight anyways.
tyson could land something big in the first three rounds but i think ali could take it. ali would frustrate tyson with his leaning against the ropes, clinching and non punching to the point where tyson gives in late in the fight.
I think Tyson of the Williams fight bludgeons Ali of the Holmes fight. Mike looked good until his leg went.
Shot Ali, Tyson was a 5 round fighter by the Williams fight. Ali would lean on him and **** him up mentally.
What is the point of this matchup? Anyway, the Ali who fought Holmes lasted for 11 rounds. Tyson quit against Mcbride in just 6 rounds. Ali hangs in there longer and wins.
My thoughts exactly. Ali was mentally superior to Tyson. Ali over came much adversity but when the going got tough for Tyson he folded like a lawn chair (Holyfield's ear, quiting against McBride)
Tyson would win. He`d never stop Ali but Ali didnt even fight back against Holmes. tyson would win the first 4 then the next 11 would be 9-9 rds.
Ali was relatively shot at the beginning of his comeback. Even more shot when he won the title back from Spinks, and completely shot when Holmes beat him. I would take the partially shot Ali from the Thrilla in Manilla over the Buster Douglas era Tyson. The Ali from his mythical peak (during his banned period, assuming he was never banned) would have been too good and boxed his way to an easy decision against any version of Tyson. Watch the Quick Tillis fight and extrapolate a prime Ali (pre-comeback) in there with the prime Iron Mike. Ali was about 7 times as good as Tillis. That banned period would have been the peak Ali, still very fast, but stronger than the version that fought in, say, 1966.
