Damn I never seen someone so excited over Burger King ! it was like that was the only thing on his mind
its hard to say... Bhop until 2006 has been doing great in old age... So long as they keep winning... theres no convincing them. I almost think there should be a 45+ league or something though... it gets ridiculous. You get so many old fighters taking up young exciting fighters' boxing dates. This is bad for the sport- I mean yeah, you get to see your name fighters like RJJ get out there again which has a certain nostalgia, but in the grand scheme of things, does a Roy Jones victory mean more to the world of boxing than an Anthony Peterson? Roy jones had his time and made his money. Let some of these young hungry guys get paid and build the sport up.
How do you know?Sure he said before the fight that if he losses he retires but he didnt say anything after the fight.
I don't think B-HOP is shot. He's probably past his best, yes, and old as hell, but he's still a top LHW. Just have a look on his last fight against Calzaghe. I'm not gonna argue here who won - B-Hop or Calzaghe, that's been discussed enough on this forum, and with no results - I'm just saying that having a close, close fight with arguably one of the best fighters around at higher weights proves that a fighter has something left, and I think B-Hop still has a lot left. And I wouldn't count him out against Pavlik either. Evander Holyfield is shot, and I too would wish he'd retire. He might get badly hurt if he continues. But I gotta say one thing: put a fighter in front of old Holyfield that doesn't move and goes toe-to-toe, and Holyfield will probably beat him. You could see it in all his fights since the John Ruiz trilogy - every time a fighter would stay in front of him (with the exception of Toney), he beat them. Even now he's still got enough left to beat slow B-level fighters imo. And he didn't look THAT bad in his last fight against Ibragimov, I mean he was nowhere the Holyfield from the mid 90s, but it wasn't like he was getting dominated by the much younger, fresher and undefeated Ibragimov. Ibragimov played it safe and cleverly stayed away from Holyfield in that fight, he just went in and out and did enough to win the rds, but Holyfield never was in trouble, like he was expected to be... But as I said it's hight time for hime to retire, no use for this old dog of war marching on.
i dunno coulda had alot of trouble making weight ..prolly made alot of sacrafices ..i'd be kinda happy too that it was over lol
Would you say hatton looked yes he looked tentative as it was is first fight back after a crushing defeat at the hands of mayweather and in front of 58000 fans.
I think Hatton looked off colour, rather than shot. His stamina was the biggest plus in the fight, having been a question mark for quite some time. The biggest minus was the punch resistance (or lack thereof) - however he was under great pressure to entertain. Many of Hatton's fans aren't entertained by a Pernell Whitaker type display - they prefer a street fighter type. This is not an excuse BTW - I think Ricky is on the slide, but has a lot more left than he is being given credit for.
I agree......... Zab is definitely not a shot fighter.. He showed more character in that fight last weekend than i saw in his whole career.. I was very impressed..:good
According to daily threads on ESB EVERY boxer is either shot, a bum or shoud retire beginning the day he is born. Basically every boxer is born a bum. This should end the discussion.
