“I think the whole deal with Mares was a bluff,” said Donaire. “If I agreed, they would keep me hanging without a definite fight. Anyone can offer a $3 Million purse without a commitment. All I know is I’ve got a fight on April 13, possibly against Rigondeaux and I’ll be training for that. Now, I hear that Victor Terrazas and Cristian Mijares will fight for the WBC title that Mares is giving up in April. I don’t think Mares would’ve beaten Terrazas and it’s not likely Mares will make an impact as a featherweight.”

First Darchinyan clowning on Mares, now Donaire.

both Donaire and Darchinyan have made good points about Mares - he low blows a lot and its unlikely he could ever be a great featherweight.

Kind of hard to fire shots at someone and be taken seriously when you clearly ducked him.

    STOP DUCKING DONAIRE.

why would Donaire duck someone inferior?

You duck someone who's better than you.

dont be mad that he's the best, the creme de la creme and his opponents run away in fear in the ring of being knocked out

fight can still be made, its unlike Mares will be advancing at 126, he will end up moving back down once he gets whooped up there

How do we know Donaire is better than Mares if they havent met? Mares actually has the better resume between the two.

What do you call turning down the biggest payday you have ever had to face a fighter that is obviously superior. Mares is proven. Rigo is not.

Dont get me wrong I would like for Donaire to get rid of Rigo and then finally get on to Mares so there is no doubt who the best FW/Bantamweight is but at the point the fight to make is Mares-Donaire.

people were only calling for rigo cause the didnt think that gbp would work with tr....now that goldenboy stepped up, donaire and his team turned it down.....PUSSY**** !!!!

goes to show you that fighters can control their promoters to a certain point......just like chavez manned up and fought martinez, and only signed his contract with TR if that fight would get made.....i'm telling you, MEXICANS KEEP BOXING MOVING !!!

    donaire's a *****, period !!!!!
