Should 15 round title bouts return?

Should 15 round title fights return? There have been great 15 round bouts in the rich history of the sport, and there have been ring fatalities in 12 round fights. Please let's hear some comments.

 

I sure would like to do some 15-rounders if ever get to become a boxer.

 

I would guess most of us who lived during the 15 rd era would say yes (but, why not 20 rounds? Or unlimited until one can’t continue)...but it ain’t gonna happen.

 

Sure, who (on a history forum) wouldn't like to see that happen?

 

I personally would like to see a return of the 15 round title bouts, I grew up in that era. Many a title has been lost due to the 12 rounders. Imagine April 6 1987 all over again, maybe Marvelous Marvin Hagler beats Sugar Ray Leonard to retain his middleweight title, and ties Carlos Monzon's record of 14 title defenses.

 

Remember being gutted when they originally cut it from 15 rounds to 12.Would love those days to return but due to safety issues it will never happen

 

Yes, lots of fighters today would never make it 15. Rounds 13-15 are the true championship rounds

 

Why would today's fighters find it harder to go 15 rounds (if they had to) than the old-timers?

 

Are those real or perceived? Have there been any legit studies or was it just feelgood legislation?

 

I’m all for unification fights being 15 rounds as its elite v elite (in theory)

 

I think they could be brought back exactly for that reason.

Absolutely!!! Especially for the two best guys in the division.
