Tito Trinidad used to do it all the time. Simple fact is, why would you need to run a marathon?

Why would a Marathon runner need to spar 3 Rounds?

Of course a Boxing gym will get you in great shape. But so will a normal gym IF you know what you're doing. ;)

Because it trains explosiveness along with endurance, along with learning a skill rather than being big for nothing. If I'm not mistaken, Zab Judah runs 5 miles a day but has **** endurance... but people like Pacquiao who does an insane amount of sparring who hardly gets tired

It seems you're trying to argue that sparring is the best cardio you could possibly do whatever sport/event/hobbie you participate in. That's just wrong.

Also, powerlifters are big and train explosively to lift heavy weights...

That's not what I was saying, I'm saying that a boxing gym can get you in phenomenal shape and you really don't NEED a regular gym.

In the end it comes down to how hard the person trains. Boxing can get you in great shape, but like I said, going to a regular gym can do just as good a job or better. I don't see what you're trying to argue.

    Again, agreed.

A powerlifting routine = the Rowing Machine + Swimming + Running = unreal SHAPE.

Any normal gym has the above.

Nonsense! Why is every boxer doing anything else then?

Manny Pacquiao, since you mentioned him, also does an insane amount of running.

Sparring does nothing for muscle buildup or strength. It doesn't help you run longer. There's all kinds of being "in shape" that boxing alone will not prepare you for.

Is the 00 in your alias indicative of your date of birth?

I wasn't saying sparring beat any other measure, but it sure beats the hell out of running. I believe Judah runs an insane amount and as you can see he can't last for **** in fights.

And you're completely going away from the thread, does he NEED regular gym to be in shape? No, a boxing gym does an excellent job of that. Proceed to ****ing off

Judah just has bad stamina. Marciano, Frazier et cetera used to do insane ammounts of roadwork.

Stamina is a natural attribute, all the training in the world won't take you past your ceiling.

Sparring all the time is a good way to get brain damage, truth being if you want to get in shape then there are a million different ways to proceed.
