Should a reigning boxing champ crossover to fight his UFC counterpart?

Should it happen for principle alone? Of all the boxing champs, who do you think would have the best chance of winning?

I know Andre Berto expressed interest after May/McG.

It will never be a reigning champion who is truly on top. Toney's and Mercer's looking for a paycheck post 40.

As far as MMA fighters coming over to boxing, I see good chance of that continuing. Cyborg just applied for her boxing license a couple days ago and is hoping for a crossover fight in the next year. If boxing and MMA were two fighters, boxing would be the A-side for several reasons. And that is why the crossovers, should they continue, will be in boxing's domain.

The only chance the boxer would have is that MMA fighters push their punches, I think bigger punching boxers would stand a better chance because a lot of MMA fighters make mistakes so there`s always the chance of a lucky shot, if I was a boxer the only way I would fight in MMA was if the UFC fighter agreed to meet me in the ring for a rematch. Anthony Joshua has said he would like to fight in the MMA cage but would probably lose he said he would ask that no submissions be allowed, this could change things a lot.

Any puncher is going to have a decent chance in the cage. Conor's featherfisted blows weee knocking guys out left and right in the cage so of course you'd think you big hitting guys are going to have a chance to end things early in the octagon.

I wonder if McGregor would be willing to face a Golovkin or Canelo in the cage.

Unless the wrestled in the ams or trained in BJJ they'd have zero shot against a pro-MMA fighter.

The transition of MMA to boxing can be done considerably easier than boxing to mma... it's not even a question.

Give it up. A 21 year old Mike Tyson could have murdered all these MMA bums in the octagon.

They had to use subtitles for Toney's promo.

That says it all. Embarrassing that MMA thugs cling to this victory. Bum sport.

Such a fight would draw tremendous interest from the mainstream media.Especially on the heels of the may/mac fight. Could you imagine the buzz if one of boxing's heavyweight champs intended to challenge Stipe Miocic? It could be the highest grossing fight in combat sports history.

A boxing champion with NO crosstraining is the definition of "a puncher's chance".

A boxing champion with extensive crosstraining is an MMA fighter with a boxing base and will probably do great.

Cro Cop was originally a boxer.
