If Wlad was a lazy fat slob mothafuka he'd be walking around 300-350 easy. Just shows how fit the guy is. Then you have opponents much shorter than him around the same weight. The division just sucks plain and simple has nothing to do with America hating on Wlad or not having a hw champ. There aren't any Mercer's, Golota's, Sander's, etc talented contenders that could give the elite a run for their money or even upset them. There just isn't.

IF you were going to make a "Super Heavyweight" division, then you'd need to remove Cruiserweight entirely and start "Super Heavy" at 220.

Even that doesn't make sense and I don't support it, but more so than just creating an 18th division and setting the limit at 250 (which, as someone previously pointed out, would feature little to no quality fighters for decades).

So just take a look at the top40 guys in the division who regularly come in over 250.

    Fury 22-0, 16KO
    Solis 20-2, 13KO
    Browne 21-0, 18KO
    TT 39-5, 26KO
    Ustinov 29-1, 21KO
    Vidondo 19-1-1, 17KO

That's it! And most of these huge amount of guys would have no problem at all to come in under the 250lbs limit.
That would be one quality bound SHW division right there :!:

No but maybe we should have some Catchweight fights to even up the playing field. Maybe Wlad can weigh no more than 230 if he faces Shannon Briggs???

Yes, it should. Starting from 230 lbs. 30 Lbs would be the range of the heavyweight division between cruisers and super.

But, it will NEVER EVER be made. Because it would disqualify the light heavyweights midgets competing at heavyweights in the past.

EDIT: oh, and by the way. If you're going to annoy someone with a poll style question, then go ahead and have at least the decency to add a poll, you lazy ****.

If I read between the lines, you're ok with it but only if it gets Wlad out of the way? :blood

And with many welterweights coming in at 160+ at fightnight, do people actually believe that even if the limit is all the way down to 230 or 235, the current big guys would have much trouble making that weight at the weighin?

I agree with that, it would be soon called the division of fatties!
So boxers would try to gain fat in order to fight in a higher but easier weight class, that would be new.

yes, but it has to be done the right way...there needs to be a reset. come up with a new classification for heavyweight...say, from 241-255 ....then carrierweight: 225-240. Then cruiserweight: 216-224. below that, it would be lightheavyweight from 206-215. below that it would be super-middle from 196-205...all the way down to minimmum weight at 125lbs.

certainly not yet, though perhaps people will grow to the point one day when we need one.

    long way ahead.

there comes a point where extra size only means undue stress on the heart (which cant grow much bigger without becoming more inefficient), so SHWs above a certain height weight will be at more of a disadvantage in terms of stamina.
