Should a unified champ always get at least 50/50 split against a challenger?

I think there's a good possibility Joshua will end up getting a 70/30-60/40 split in his favour against Usyk.

He got a bigger split against Ruiz in the 2nd fight despite being a challenger and Ruiz the champ.

IMO who brings in more PPV views/tickets matters, but if you are a unified champ, on PRINCIPLE you deserve to walk away with AT LEAST 50% of the cut, regardless of how many people care about you and watch because of you.

If I was Usyk I'd not agree to anything less that that. Why become unified champ if your challengers are going to walk away with less?

Nobody would bother fighting for belts if it was the rule

They'd seek the more lucrative fights

Boxing is a business first and foremost, the bigger draw will always get a bigger share of the purse, that’s just the way it is

I don't think 50/50 will work in the diva era. But at least 40/60 should work.
