Should AJ fight like that against Wilder?

Just like he did against Ruiz, jab and move and come in at less weight to have more fluid movement like last night. Wilder was struggling to find the range when Fury was on the move, Fury only got caught because he was showboating lol

This tactic worked against Ruiz because Ruiz was at a severe height and reach disadvantage, was barely mobile and severely out of shape. Also, AJ had a huge 22 foot ring to dance around in. None of these advantages(except maybe the size of the ring) would be present against Wilder.

Honestly, doing a second-rate Tyson Fury impersonation against someone that dropped the actual Tyson Fury twice wouldn’t be the wisest idea.

Joshua should just fight systematically vs Wilder. Fight from behind the jab, keep his hands up, and exploit the openings. Wilder is good at bullying old men and asthmatics; AJ will take him to pieces. Frankly I fancy tubby Ruiz vs Wilder as well.

    Totally different fight

Wilder needs distance to generate power and has equal reach with good speed so staying on the outside isn’t necessarily the most effective tactic. On the flip side Wilder just cannot deal with boxers who can jab, move and feint. He’s been in scorecard trouble in many fights but has pulled it out of the bag with a KO. Except of course against Fury where he clearly lost and was bailed out by dodgy judges. The one thing that Wilder hasn’t contended with is a fighter who can box circles around him but can also knock him out with one punch as Joshua clearly can. Wilder doesn’t have any inside game whatsoever, he doesn’t throw short hooks or uppercuts inside and doesn’t handle the physicality of the wrestle very well.

So where does that leave us
Height, reach, fitness, motivation, experience, belief all roughly equal
KO power probably goes to Wilder but Joshua also has plenty of one shot KO power himself.
The two key factors will be inside fighting and technical ability and that’s where Joshua has a huge advantage.

Delivering the power shots is the crucial factor
Wilder will crudely go about this task by winging in huge overhand rights at every opportunity but as Fury and other decent boxers have shown these can be avoided, for a while at least in most cases.
Joshua has the infinitely better technical boxing ability and will most likely fashion an opportunity to get his shots home before Wilder and more often than Wilder.

Wilder does not have the iron jaw of Ruiz and doesn’t recover well after taking a shot, Joshua will not need to show the caution he did Vs Ruiz 2 if he gets Wilder rocking, he’ll go straight for the finish.

He absolutely should fight behind the jab and wait for openings and opportunities to counter punch. When that opportunity presents itself he better look to end it. Over 12 Wilder Will almost certainly land a good shot and that will likely be the end of the fight.

I saw nothing to make me think Joshua beats Wilder, fleeing from a tub of lard for 12 rounds hardly recommends a victory. If he was terrified to engage with fatso ,you think he'll plant his feet for a second to throw a meaningful punch against Wilder? Joshua was scared to death, and fatty couldn't take advantage.
