    As in the title.

I think that would be a great thing. If all fighters decided to stand up against those organizations and accept only fights for the Ring belt then maybe, maybe this could bring the better days of boxing...

    and better matchups for fans:)

    your opinions?

Yes, but sadly it is not at all plausible.

yep. no sooner would those guys drop their belts you'd get shameless scab whores like Povetkin picking them up and calling themselves champion.

    Unfortunately.

I sometimes wish there was something like UFC in boxing. One organization collecting best guys in the sport and having the last word about who fights who. All the best would eventually have to face each other.

But no way this is ever going to happen with all those Arum's, King's, Sauerland's, etc:/

this can only happen if a fighter is bigger than the belt like what floyd and pac is currently now. and even if they are that big, they would still like those belts around their waist.

asking fighters to relinquish their belt means asking them to throw additional money that they can get when they fight for championships as a champion. this much is true for the lower weight guys that fighting as a belt holder means an extra $20k for your purse.

Wont happen, if they did drop their belts there would always be someone behind them willing to come along and scoop them up.

Nah, the Ring Belt has no mandos.

You need one organziation which is completely neutral and has to OK all fights and is also involved in Match making once a fighters gets to the top 20 in their divison.

You then need a good ranking system which is completely transparent and does not punish fighters too much for losing.
