Most likely, Canelo will get a fair shake because he's the star of the show -- in both the eyes of the media and fans -- and on the night will have the majority of the crowd in Texas behind him. That'll even out any advantages Trout might have for being 'American'.

 

Actually they are. Furthermore perceived biased judging is often the result of fans having their own biased opinion. Unless of course you have a shred of evidence of a promoter paying off any of these judges(I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just that there isn't any proof in many cases)

Who's we? The general public has little interest in that rematch.

Arum is a good promoter. He can always come up with a viable option. I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that he risked his business and possibly his freedom just to keep open the possibility of rematch that people may or may not want to see. It would seem to me that it would be better for Arum if Pacquiao kept steam rolling opponents.

It's the same principle as at the Pac vs Brat fight, people here predicting a robbery for the visiting fighter. While history has shown that nationality trumps stardom when a fight is held in the US.

Sadly at this time we can't trust boxingjudges to do their job in a fair way, and actually we never could.

Of course there isn't. As if proof is that easily attainable. You'd have to be completely naive if you believe powerful promoters have never tried to have an influence on judges.

What part of "It was to make a rematch relevant and keeping options open" is that hard to understand? He's keeping options open; meaning Pac-Bradley II doesn't have to happen immediately. It can happen next, the fight after, or two or three fights down the road. With Bradley having a world title, Uncle Bob's also given himself the luxury of being able to match him with JMM or anyone else. The more competitive fights he has under his stable -- where belts switch hands often and fighters win and lose -- the more reasons he has to create rematches. That's very important for a man who only wants to create in-house fights. His options are limited and he needs good reasons to recycle his fights.

I threw "we" out there loosely. I wasn't specifically referring to anyone. Just that a few fans -- when discussing Pac's final few fights with TR fighters -- have thrown Bradley's name alongside JMM, Rios and Alvarado.
