i agree that amir shouldn't be ahead of hatton, but calling amir khan one dimensional is laughable when the guy is always moving.

Seeing as how everybody hates Khan and loves Hatton, I get the feeling we're going to get some skewered sides here.

Hatton should be ranked ahead but if Hatton is out until the summer time and Khan beats JMM, a switch wouldn't be too out of the realm of possibility.

I can't think of much Khan has done at 140 that Hatton hasn't exceeded. Hatton has one loss at 140..to Pacquiao. I'd love to see what Pacquiao would do to Kahn....

So Hatton has accomplished much more than Khan at 140...and is still the better fighter of the two, imo. Hatton can take a punch, and while he's been down, it's against excellent fighters who hit him with shots he didn't see. Shots which probably would have dropped anyone. Khan has been down from some of the least impressive shots I've ever seen a fighter floored by. Prescott nearly dropped him with a jab for christ's sake!

This leads me to believe that Hatton would murder Khan if they ever met in the ring. Khan is severely overrated and will likely be brutally exposed more than once as he steps up his competition.

Truly embarrassed for the 18 people who said yes. Gotta hope there's some bias there, because the only alternative explanation is a lack of intelligence. No offense.

I voted yes. Honestly think that at this point in their careers Khan is a better fighter. That they could fight 10 different kinds of opponents in their next fights and Khan would fare better than Hatton against any one of them. Hatton is coming off one of those devastating losses. The type where you don't wanna do a post fight interview just in case the fighter has some permanent damage. To top it off last pic I saw of him he looked more like kirby than a boxer.

Khan has been steadily improving and his last 2 performances have been solid. I see no reason why he wouldn't be even better at this point and even more comfortable at 140.

    Feb 2010: Khan > Hatton @ 140

If they fought I'd expect Khan to be the favorite too.

No, Ricky's only lost to the two current best fighters in the world while Khan is not fighting Maidana.

Only problem is Khan hasn't been able to establish a higher ranking at 140 with the quality of his wins, or the quality of his opponents. It's not even close. On top of that Khan's people appear to be intent on cherry picking their way through the division finding the least dangerous, most shot, softest hitting opponents money can buy.

Hatton got dusted by the great Manny Pacquiao. The fight before that he utterly dominated and stopped solid Paulie Malignaggi. I won't even list the quality and quantity of Hatton's wins at 140 lbs... To say that Khan should be ranked ahead of Hatton is hilarious. Even though he is.

With Amir Khan's punch resistance the only thing certain in life is nothing. Not anything. ZIP.

I see your point although I disagree with it.

The way I see it is that, taking everything into consideration, at this point in their careers I believe that Khan is a better JrWW than Hatton. By my criteria thats enough for Khan to be ranked above Hatton.

Obviously its subjective. Hopefully Khan and Hatton will prove me right in the not too distant futur. Lets wait and see.

Nice tight division. But how the hell do Khan and Bradley rate higher than hatton? I agree to an extent with inactivity, but who has Khan fought at Light Welter, and likewsie with Bradley. That chap is seriously over rated and has fought the lower end of this class. Witter would have given him some hard times had he been on his game.

Saying Bradley is no 2 is like saying Eddie Chambers is no 2 in the Heavy's.

Funny thing is I agree with your philosophy. I'm not a resume guy at all. But that's how they do current rankings.

We'll have to see how good Khan is. He moves around really fast and frantic against opponents that have been tailor made for him. That says very little about his genuine quality as a pro. Even Prescott was well suited for Khan, but Amir Khan didn't have enough class to make his advantages count. And Prescott is a lower tier fighter. It's been established. Right about now Amir Khan is a 140 version of Wladimir Klitschko, Mr. Please Don't Hit Me, but he isn't as geniunely skilled as Wladimir (not saying much), and he sure as **** isn't as tall by ratio. You don't have to jump to hit Khan. Amir Khan is going to have to prove just how capable he really is, unlike Hatton who has already long established that. Freddie Roach has indicated he doesn't believe Amir Khan is as good as anybody that's strong enough to hurt him with a single punch with his matchmaking preferences. My only conclusion is that's pretty weak. And you're right. It's February 2010. His "improving" hasn't changed his chin, apparently. That's no kind of improvement.

Stick a fork in Hatton folks. I picked Khan for the simple fact that Hatton will never again be in a fight that will mean anything at 140. Zero, zilch, nothing. I'm thoroughly overjoyed that I dont have to sit through another bull**** hook n hold Hatton fight. He sucks a **** and so does Man City.

Hatton should be but many people doubt he will come back and even if he does many people doubt he can still make 140.
