I think Khan should possibly consider moving back to 135 for 6 months or so.
This Lightweight division is messed up at the moment and Khan was a little bit unlucky to move up at the time he did.

Look at the Lightweight Champs now:

WBO and WBA Champ: Juan Manuel Marquez
    Interim WBO Champ: Michael Katsidis
    WBC Champ: Humberto Soto
    IBF - Vacant

I see Khan beating all of them with not that many problems. And his reach/size would be huge. Khan can still make the weight and I'm sure them guys won't play much effect as they aren't very big punchers.

I could see Khan unifying them titles. Yes he would be weight drained but would it play that much effect?

After that he could easily go back up and he'd be a 2-time world champ by then.

But what do you guys think?

Nope never going to happen. He is at 140 now with a belt and coming on to his second defense. Why change it up now it ain't going to happen. He might take a better punch at 140 as well.

I thought his fans were blaming the lower weight for his poor punch resistance?

Yes, but the people at 135 aren't really huge punchers so I'm sure Amir could still get through it.

Why would he want to go back to 135 when he makes 140 more comfortably and there's much more action going on at 140.

Because he could go down and become a 2-weight world champ and then go back up.

    Who would care?

Anyway, it would be potentially hazardous trying to boil down to 135 after adding some extra leg muscle on going up to 140.

A bit of a silly thread. Go back down and be a little dehydrated. Those guys can't hurt him. Is that what your worried about? Fighters that can bang. There are other ways for him to lose like going back to 135. If he was going to make noise at 135. he would have done it when he was there. 140 and the fact that he is with Roach were the biggest and best moves he has done for his career. I see what your talking about, but let's wait to see how he fairs with the rest of the 140 contenders and champs and maybe if he does well, he can move up to 147 to try to accomplish the two division champ. I really want to see how he does with Paulie to see if he can keep up with the other 140 champs.

No, not straight away. defend it a couple of times, maybe once, then go back up. I was considering if it could pay future dividends on his CV.

Can he make the weight though? You assume so. I wouldn't be so sure.
