Should Anthony Joshua take Freddie Roach as his trainer?

Publicity wise yea, that would open him up to a lot more Hollywood press. Wild card has a strong Hollywood following so I would bet they would take to the new heavyweight champ like white on rice. Then the trickledown economics would kick in, a star is born.

 

Roach might help him improve, but he's not broke, so he doesn't need fixing.

No Joshua should stay with the trainer he has, why try and mend something that is not broken.
He is only a 19 fight pro, he is learning just fine, it is just that most pros do not learn under spotlight of being the Champ.
Joshua is marketable in the US fine as he is, both HBO and Showtime were showing the fight.

 

Ugh, he could do with some improving and lot of freaking road work lol. And then becoming a star in the US... that's never gonna happen in the UK. And the most famous gym in LA is Wildcard...

Joshua is true to his roots and remembers how he got to the top.
He has no need to change as he has come off a career best
performance. He is still learning and i'm sure his team will
make the necessary adjustments to see he improves next time.

 

Nah. Freddie should pick one of the up and coming HW's that are more naturally gifted than Joshua. Brighter futures with them.

 

Any improvements he needs to make are slight. He has the fundamentals down and was good enough to beat an obsessed Wladimir Klitschko in a war. Becoming a star in the US means he needs to fight here with the right promotion. Freddie would only slightly boost his popularity, he wouldn't make a huge difference. Changing trainers is a big deal. The one he's got has brought him this far, and this far is basically the top. Disrupting that for a foreign market in which boxing isn't a mainstream sport is a risky gamble.

 

He has replaced sims tho.i like mccracken and he seems to have worked on a lot he was weak at.
Did you notice at the end of the fight sims going to embrace aj and mccracken shoeing him away ?
