Chang, Laciar, Yuh, Ebihara, Ohba, Gonzalez, and Arbachakov all warrant inclusion off the top of my head.

Along with Accavallo I'd say they are the most likely candidates for inclusion, but really, I wonder if any of these guys will end up being inducted.

Surely if they are to be consistent, by letting in the likes of Carbajal and Gonzalez, these guys should be inducted, for they are no worse than those two.

By current standards you could argue all of them would be fine.Certainly if you use the Willard-Ingo-Daniel zaragoza-McGuigan yardstick to measure them by.

jung Koo Chang...Yes, one of the most talented swarmers ever and beat some of the other notable champions of his era like Zapata and Chitalada.

Horacio Accavallo...yes eventually, but more an excellent fighter than an truly great one imo.Isn't dominant at all in any of the fights i've seen him in, albeit against very tough comp.

Hiroyuki Ebihara...Same as accavallo, both of them fought damn good comp so at least are very proven-unlike some of the others on the list.

Betulio Gonzalez...no: A very good fighter, but a notch or two below the previous 2.More of a hard worker than a true talent-think a better Jose Luis Ramirez

Santos Laciar...Not as good as Ebihara and co, but does have a nice title reign to back him up.His wins over Zapata and Roman are dubious and i'd vote no if pressed.

Massao Obha.....Yes, did just about enough before dying imo, plus his obvious gifts as a technician should stand him in good stead. Not many Flyweights would be able to outbox him.

Salvatore Burruni...No, he lost a bit too much around the time he was champ imo and didn't reign long.Still a damn good fighter and better than Gonzalez or Laciar.

Effren Torres..Also part of the terrific sixties group but towrd the bottom half of that group, i would vote no.

Myung Woo Yuh...was never impressed with him much.Solid fighter that got a few gifts and wasn't notably talented other than his great chin.

Yuri Arbachakov...No..career too brief and became injury prone very quickly.Didn't maintain his prime long enough despite being an excellent fighter for a short time.

Mark Johnson....Hung around longer than Arbachakov but fought worse comp and managed to get less done imo.Talentwise he would be fine.

Rosendo Alvarez...not a big fan other than his gutsy efforts against past prime lopez.Lazy fthat turned in too many bad performances.

I wouldn't complain if any got in to be honest other than maybe Alvarez or Yuh, who at least has his title run to point to.

Almost all of them were better than Gonzalez and Carbajal.

    Nice post Mantequilla.

Have you seen the Betulio Gonzalez - Masao Ohba fight? Was the decision right?

Also, are there any fights of Horacio Accavallo's available on film other than the second Ebihara fight or the Kiyoshi Tanabe fight?

There is extended highlights of him against Takayama, Efren Torres and the first Ebihara bout.

Been a while since i've seen the Ohba fight and i didn't score it.Without watching it again, i'd say it was a very close but legit decision.

Could have gone to Gonzalez without being a robbery and did show the kind of fighter that would bother Ohba.

Is Yoko Gushiken in the IBHOF? He might warrant inclusion as well, based upon the numbers that he did as 108lb titleholder. Granted, the comp wasn't specatular, but it was still an excellent reign.

And, as Mantequilla stated, the likes of Chatchoi Chianoi could also warrant mention based upon the current statdards of the IBHOF.

I've watched a bit of Betulio Gonzalez lately and though I agree with your assessment of him as a bit of a toiler, I'd probably still put him in the HOF.

IMO he beat Ohba by a point, went 3-1 against Oguma, beat the underrated Martin Vargas, and had a couple of close fights with Canto (his win is dubious). He also had close fights with Laciar and Ibarra when starting to slow down. That's a rather exceptional list of accomplishments.

Mantequilla, according to what I've heard the Japanese crowd booed the decision heartily after Ohba got the decision over Gonzalez. Never saw it myself, however.

Scar, i'd say it was a typical could have gone either way fight.

Sweet, his fight with Espadas is my favourite. That's worth getting as well.

    Accavallo is a NO!!

38 of his wins came against opponents who’d never won a single fight!
(Yes, I looked it up-I didn't remember off to top of my head but I knew it was a lot) He may have had Hall of Fame talent but that's not enough.

BTW Myung Woo Yuh was a light flyweight and should be in the HOF.
