Should Area titles be revamped?

Southern Area titles seem to be the most active of the Regional belts where the majority of weights have current title holders. And remember back Spencer Oliver v Pat Mullings a true classic.

However other Areas are less popular - e.g Western Area - The last light weight title fight was in 1952.

As a Southerner the term 'Central Area' does not mean much to me. I think of Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds etc as the North. Why not Amalgamate Central and Northern Areas - and have Northern Regional Titles.

The Souther and Western Areas would be the Southern Region covering Norfolk to Cornwall.

With a bigger population base a proper level of title below that of English Belts
