Southern Area titles seem to be the most active of the Regional belts where the majority of weights have current title holders. And remember back Spencer Oliver v Pat Mullings a true classic. However other Areas are less popular - e.g Western Area - The last light weight title fight was in 1952. As a Southerner the term 'Central Area' does not mean much to me. I think of Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds etc as the North. Why not Amalgamate Central and Northern Areas - and have Northern Regional Titles. The Souther and Western Areas would be the Southern Region covering Norfolk to Cornwall. With a bigger population base a proper level of title below that of English Belts
