From an investment point of view do the showtime exec's really get the most from their investment??

I remember Tyson getting this kind of Money, but the TV rights were sold all over the world and not just from US ppv results.

Maidana is a solid fighter but one who is expected to lose and is it really worth paying Floyd 32 million plus additions ???

It wouldnt suprise me if HBO are smiling right now and saying ' i told you so'

    peace.

I originally misread the title and thought it said:

Should betting Maidana by UD get you 32 million???

And came to say, yes, yes it should. 32,000,000/1 :deal

  3. Supply and demand.

You must be one of those people who are crying over teacher's salaries. There's thousands of teachers in the world, but there's only one Floyd Mayweather.

Well im hearing that showbox have only made money on the Canelo fight and lost on the Guerrero fight and just about broke even on the Cotto fight due to the high salaries involved.

Also notice how stacked this card is , they need money from all areas just to make the numbers work.

Its not only Floyd selling this card, both Broner and Khan are bringing in some serious figures.

Im not hating , just serious about the numbers , Floyd is getting double what Oscar used to get but is doing far less cash numbers.

    yes

if you're smart enough to have positioned yourself as such

now, if you're a moron like manny pacquiao - you earn millions upon millions for top rank and end up in debt yourself.

I think showtime has a long range goal. Which is, Floyd fighting manny for his last fight under showtime(probably last fight ever). That would generate at least 3 million buys due to all the craze surrounding it. That should bring showtime a hefty sum, because overall, I don't see them making a killing off Floyd's fights. I think most people buy Floyd fights based on wanting to see him lose, so the lower the chances of him losing, the lower the sales. This coming from a guy who thinks Floyd's amazing, but, definitely not a crowd pleaser in his own right.

How did Showtime break even on the Mayweather/Cotto fight when the fight was broadcasted by HBO?
