Specifically Roy Jones, James Toney, Shane Mosley, Evander Holyfield and Fernando Vargas. All of these fighters have either tested positive for, or have been suspected of using PED's. Should they be judged on their accomplishments, or should they be punished by not being inducted? Or should what they did before being caught get them in, for example Toney winning titles and beating McCallum. Or does being caught at any point in their career render them unworthy? Thoughts?
Yes hate to say it as Toney is one of my favourite all time fighters. Roy Jones was never actually caught as he bought something over the counter that i believe wasnt banned
hmm says . . . there should be some leniency . . . some peeps don't know what they put in them, legal or not . . .
RJJ never tested for steroids? wtf? http://www.braggingrightscorner.com/sarajhall1.html Jacob Hall: All I saw on any of the websites was that Murad Muhammad said Roy Jones tested positive for take some (nasal decongestant). This content is protected boxingin$ider.com: Does the state of Nevada have a law on drug testing? Jacob Hall: Yes. Most states do not. Nevada does have drug testing. I think most people are surprised at that they think all boxers are tested. For some time Ive tried to get a law passed similar to Nevada but we havent got that done yet. If the sanctioning bodies choose not to take action, there isnt a lot the state commissions can do. Thats why Im in favor of a Federal Commission like the one Senator John McCain is proposing. Quote: Jacob Hall: Both of them did. Roy Jones tested positive for steroids. This content is protected . Hall was about ten times above an acceptable level. He didnt mention that in his interview (the now infamous interview of July 18 with Bragging Rights Corner and Doghouse Boxing). Quote: So he did test positive. He did take Ripped Fuel. Whether thats what he took or not we dont know, This content is protected The IBF chose to do nothing. They wanted a second test to be done. But why take a second test when he failed the first one and This content is protected Thats where it ended. This content is protected
Naw. Bad idea. Da Joos have a way of amplifying trivial use such an over the counter skin creme for those they wish to demote such as Toney, while attenuating real use such as the Klit girls who were literally born in a vat of Roids and DNA manipulator retros. Today, it's pretty difficult to not take a medicine that doesn't contain some form of steroid. That seems to be the pinnacle of European medicine. It's already bad enough that many bums are inducted because of politics and manipulated stats.
I rather see that looked at by a case by case basis. Example 1) a guy who already had a really impressive career, who fights well over his 40's because he was so stupid to blow all of his money (really it happens :yep) who sees a good payday get wasted because of some physical problem takes some PED and gets caught. Example 2) a guy who's on top of the world, is caught and after investigation there's evidence he used multiple substances troughout his career, wich was entirely focused on improving his performance/strength etc. Example 1) I'd say forgive the man. Still HOF Example 2) hang him on the highest tree you can find.
I also said ''have been suspected of''. Plus the fight would have got changed to a NC if Hall hadnt tested positive as well.
good point just on the other side liston was documented to have used blinding substance on his gloves against machen and williams, billy papke punched ketchel in the throat when he took the middleweight title, zivic used everything but a lead pipe in his wins, and he also pointed out to specific fighter (s) who removed padding from gloves as that's what you did. cheating has always happened, it ain't new
Yes yes yes. A cheat is a mother****ing cheat and there should be no reward for deceiving the entire boxing world. **** that, no way.

Im not saying anything about cleaning up the sport, im just asking should fighters be punished for stuff like this, same with someone like Cheatarito, if he beats Pac, has more good very good wins should he not be inducted because of what he did?
