this is the work of an elite esb titan, fantastic post jones, toney, and mosley are a disgrace to the sport, they are blatant cheats :dead and should always be remembered for that :deal
Although it might not seem fair to someone who accidentaly took a banned substance or whatever, my gut says yes, anyone who tests positive doesn't belong in the HOF. The punishments for taking PEDs should be much, much harsher and this would be a good moral position for the sport to take. Still, morals and boxing generally don't go hand-in-hand. It would seem strange though if Holyfield, Toney and Mosley weren't in the HOF, while McGuigan and Jose Suliaman are.
Known cheaters should not be allowed in the HOF. It doesn't matter if the cheating was effective, and it doesn't matter if the cheating happened due to ignorance (aka "I didn't know that substance was illegal!") It's every athlete's responsibility.
Yes if cheating was deliberate, cynical and it can be proved. Testing positive for marijuana is not really it. I think that breach of rules may very well happen as rules themselves constantly shift due to evolution of training methods /injury treatment methods/ food supplements /etc In a way, it is a lottery. And what does "juicing" mean exactly? In some sports sitting in an alpine (low oxygen) room for a minute too long is considered cheating. Anyone who regularly gets steroid shots and/or has plaster in wraps should be definitely excluded and maybe tried for fraudulence AND assault (in case of combat sports).
I agree. On another note, I'd like to see a sports science show where they show the punching power of a boxer then do what his punching power is like if he's taking PEDs such as an anabolic steroid
Next thing you know people will be shocked to hear that the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, and the Olympics are riddled with performance enhancing drugs, too. It sucks and it's not fair for the natural athletes who really are just freaks of nature, but it's the cost of doing business for the majority of these guys. And once a few guys start, all the sudden it's up to the rest to catch up. For example, if you're at a concert and everyone's sitting down, you can stand to get an advantage by getting a better view. Then, the guy behind you has to do the same just to get the same view he had before. Before you know it, everyone's standing and the only ones without a view are the ones who kept sitting. PED's in college and professional sports are the same way. After awhile, it's just viewed by the athletes as a cost of doing business.
absolutely disgracefull post:dead He tried to gain an unfair advantage by knowingly taking banned substances. Its very simple, he should not be allowed anywhere near the HOF same goes for any other PROVEN cheats. :deal
