This is just my opinion . Bivol when he first came into the scene he was knocking guys out . So that has given the impression that he is a high level knock out artist . Which he is against certain opponents only . Latley he hasn't scored a Knockout against well known opponents such as Chilemba and Pascal. Bivols coach reaction was the following "We didn’t see anything new in this fight, Bivol worked in his own way - without risk" -Eduard Kravtsov, this shows that the trainer wants bivol to go in there and just obliterate these guys. The coach was right bivol fought in his own way. Maybe the reason bivol didn't rush to get the Knockout or didn't go for it . Was maybe because he already tried it and he realized he didn't have the power to put these guys out. In the Pascal fight you can tell bivol tried to get the knockout but he simply couldn't. He didn't take as many risks because he felt Pascal even though past his prime was still powerful and tough. So bivol fought smart. This is my opinion if the coach continues to pressure bivol to just get the knockout. He risks putting bivol to getting dropped or stopped himself. Pascal was throwing some powerful shots at bivol that made him go back and respect pascals power . So let me know your thoughts on this should he get a new trainer (bivol). I think the coach is putting bivol at risk to getting stopped or dropped . Bivol has some power but it just isn't enough. There is no point in trying to press for the knockout if you don't have the power.
This is the pattern followed by almost all fighters. They are KO masters until they reach a better level of competition. Then the KOs become more difficult. In order to get them you have to do things you haven't had to do to this point. In other words, take more risk. Many fighters don't want to do that. They would rather take the W and move on, which is the smarter approach.
