Hell no...it's not a performance enhancing substance...but our big brother society would probably take away a win if they found that a fighter was blazin' it prior to earning a victory.

No, thats why Tyson wasnt credited with the win against Golota back in 2000, if anything it helped Andrew take even less of beating.

Last time I checked pot was illegal.

Would you be okay if a boxer entered the ring with more then 0.08 of alcool level too?

    lol

I've smoked it for years however don't now but I've read a few interviews of fighters(MMA and Boxing) that feel that it helps their focus for a fight, which I can understand......It certainly is not a motivator, but merely something to help with focus and understanding:)

It's not about the legality, boxing officials should not care if you smoke marijuana anymore than they care if you j-walk, or spit on the sidewalk, or are guilty of any other minor infraction...it's not a performance enhancing substance, therefore it is not cheating.

Thats somewhat my point...boxers who smoke pot shouldnt be reprimanded for it....It's the most harmless drug on earth yet stays in your system for 30-40 days, so a boxer could be a crackhead as its only in your system 2-5 days, makes no sense at all......However I could see how it benefits a fighter if used with intelligence...it helps focus...this could mean studying an opponent for example......but as far as physical benefits there are none

Be reminded this sport is 90% mental

Hmm... Interesting point about focus. I remember a Nam vet telling me his patrol used to get high before going out on patrol, a life and death situation. I always thought it was a little strange because I thought it would make them less alert. I know pilots entering the combat zone used to turn off a lot of the automated 'help' systems because they found them too distracting in actual combat. Not sure why I think these two things are related. :huh

try taking weed or alcohol and see if it helps you.

itøs very naaive to think that taking it because it's "illegal" necessarily gives you a benefit
