Should boxers think about incorporating Wing Chun Gung Fu into their training?

Aye, I'm a big Lee fan :good I remember hearing stories of how Lee would actually practise shadowboxing while watching the Ali/Williams fight. Lee also mimicked Ali during the fight with Oharra at one point in Enter the Dragon, when he's sort of skipping around playfully and countering everything. I like the fact that he respected his martial arts roots, but still studied boxing, along with all sorts of other systems, to bolster his abilities. One of the few people who were ahead of their time, in that respect.

That's why even Dana White called Bruce Lee the "Father of MMA". He incorporated many styles into his fighting system. Ever notice how he took out Kareem in that movie? Side control choke, lol.

I have a documentary on tape, an old one, that talks about how Bruce Lee absolutely loved to mimic Ali and Jersey Joe Walcott. Truly a fascinating fighter and in my opinion, Manny Pacquiao has some of Lee's attributes with his striking (with the hands at least). (this coming from a huge Bruce Lee fan who doesn't consider himself a Manny fan).

Bruce was a genius. Extremely quick, the greatest martial artist in history.

Do not allow Void to see Pac's speed in that video, he is scared enough as it is. Void is a liar and a cheat, a fake hero. It's up to Void's fans to put pressure on his to fight Pac, but Void's fans do not was Void to fight Pac because they know that Pac will knock Void out. Void's fans want Void to beat up another woman.

Hey man isn't Chris John like a multi champion martial artist? That background might of helped him for boxing. Ricardo Lopez's son Alonso Lopez also does some martial arts on the side. I think I heard Johnny Tapia did, but I'm not sure.

Wing Chun has got a **** reputation and is widely regarded as a joke of a style.

The reason for this is simple. 90% of schools do it wrong. In the schools that do it right, 90% of the instructors don't really get it. Of the students who are lucky enough to find the right school and the right instructor, 90% of them will not be able to learn the style.

I have never met any martial artist, anywhere, who has impressed me more than true Wing Chun masters. At the same time, I would not recommend the style to anyone. Because if you try to use Wing Chun in a fight and you aren't ****ing great at it, then you are likely to be in trouble.

Bruce Lee was a clown who knew some tricks.

Edit: as to whether learning Wing Chun would help a boxer? No. Firstly they would probably not be able to learn it. Even if they were one of the few who got the right environment and the right teacher, it takes ages to get good. Doing Chi Sau and learning t apply it through Chark Jong would have some benefit for any fighter - to get a punch through a guard. But the training is so different that it wouldn't help a boxer much at all. The guard is harder to penetrate in boxing due to being so close to the body and the extra size of the gloves making it hard to slip past.
Any tiny benefit that was gained by a boxer who, as mentioned, would have to basically fluke being able to learn worthwhile Wing Chun anyway, would be more than offset by putting that same time and effort into more boxing training.
