Should boxers who are ahead on the scorecard before getting stopped be given a draw?

I'm just wondering, as Lennox Lewis' victory over Vitali Klitschko - a talented HW who put in a game but ultimately unsuccessful effort in his first legitimate title fight - is oft discredited and one of the main reasons put forth that Vitali was ahead on the scorecards at the time of the (undeniably correct) stoppage, despite having been hurt badly in the final stanza and only a desperate lunging waist hug away from being knocked down.

So with that in mind, should fighters who are stopped while ahead on the scorecards be given the option of having the fight go down in history as a draw?

No..... then it would be amateur boxing all over again (standing 8 counts don't have much affect of a round.)

and why have a draw when they are getting their ass kicked?

Absolutely not! It could end up after 7 rounds one guy has at least a draw even if he gets stopped!

you silly twat, knock outs and stoppages are what the fans want to see not going the distance and going to the score cards.
the score cards are just there in case there is no stoppage or ko.

I hope this is a joke.

By the way, i remember reading this thing a few years ago that said, at some part of boxing's history they were somewhere implementing the rule that if you get a knockout, then you win that round 10-0. So there was meant to be a fight where a guy was well behind on points then scored a late ko and still lost on points.

Don't ask me who where and when, i haven't got a clue sorry. Was ages ago, this just sparked my memory.

    No.

Edit: Imagine how much harder it would be for fighters to win in hostile territory with fixed judging if knocking out their opponent wouldn't even guarantee them a win. The best case scenario would be a draw. Such a horrible idea.

No, but sometimes a rematch is a must. That was the case with the Lewis v KlitschKO fight. A rematch!

I'm not suggesting it personally. But if you read through any Lewis - Klitschko thread the victory is regularly considered illegitimate due to the scorecards at the time of the conclusion, so I thought it was about time this one was thrown out there. :hey
