I dont know how the hell a sport which literally has its biggest superstar pop for PEDs before the biggest rematch of his career. Then just shrugs it off with no ban and fights the fight anyway. Whilst low level journeymen get 3 year bans for clear cases of using supplements containing a banned substance by mistake.

Can hold itself to any consistent standards at all.

If you cant even enforce the standards now, **** all chance of you enforcing them in the future either. And that is because the top guys who make the money will always be given a pass, as they always are. Those at the bottom and upcoming are those who will be screwed.

Such a stupid thread; all top level boxers are on the sos.

I bet you still believe in the tooth fairy.

    NOT!
Because I'm sure at least 8 of the top 10 heavyweights have used, or are now using, anabolic steroids.
If it's different in the smaller categories, then it's only because of maintaining the same weight (although certainly anabolic steroids have also progressed).
I'm more in favor of the rule used in the NFL; have legal and illegal anabolic steroids.
Otherwise, the concept of professional boxing is completely changed, and the quality is reduced (remove half of the top ten heavyweights, for example).

It is the cynical, mirror-image of believing in the tooth fairy to assume without any decent evidence that everyone who is good is a liar & cheater.
That is an extreme, untenable position.
Just as it would be to claim nobody ever evades being caught.
Or nobody ever tests + due to contamination or mistakes.
Or just cherry-picking general reasons why fighters might be motivated to use & insist everyone does.
Or ignore all other psychological factors except those deterring athletes, & assuming that principles & consequences & reputation mean nobody ever cheats.

All of these approaches are evidence of unscientific thinking; picking a conclusion & tailoring the evidence & arguments in favor of what you want to believe.
While being unable to say you really do not know what most are doing-or not.

Maybe their drugs record could be read out by Buffer or Diamante prior to fights alongside their fight record?

If as many claim most top fighters are on PEDS, and if bans for life were brought in for those testing positive we would lose a lot of top fighters, then simple answer the authorities state that from a set date any positive PED tests will result in lifetime ban, ALL boxers then can choose whether to risk it in future, the top fighters i am sure are not going to want to risk their multi million purses ending with lifetime ban.

It is either against the rules or its not, no appeals required, enforce or discard the PEDS rules. the bans at present are often shorter than the time some fighters have between fights anyway.

    Yes it was

Roid wasn't even being tested for steroids for the first 10-11 years of his career

The supplement was a ''nasal spray'' before it morphed into excuse #2 Ripped Fuel

There are many threads on here about all that. Roid was clearly jacked silly on roids all throughout his savage puncher avoiding prime

Knew about the Ripped fuel but not the Nasal spray, I'd have to read more about it,

Sort of like Billy Saunders who was caught using a Nasal spray & then since apparently having stopped using has looked sub par, read that it was used especially for Stamina purposes,

Always thought a certain Fighter was using for Stamina as he performed more quick & fast than ever during one of his last fights, makes you wonder.

No they should stop testing all together and make it an even playing field across the board. Let them all use whatever tools they can to be the best athlete they can, then let the chips fall where they may.

1st offense automatic 1 year suspension and fines

2nd offense 2 year suspension and fines

    3rd offense lifetime ban

If able to prove it was a supplement or tainted food ( cough cough ) then appeals using medical/scientific proof should be allowed.

either everyone should be tested in line with set regimes, say something like 60 days, 30 days, 14 days and 7 days and any positive and you're out.

    Or

Just say **** it and no drug testing at all

At the end of the day, the top fighters can fight once a year and cycle while they're out of competition and still get the long term benefits anyway
