    Discuss.

Seems like a lot of people on this forum think that facial damage should be the ultimate factor when it comes to scoring boxing fights and that it should be implemented as one of the categories for scoring a card.

A certain group of people always bring it up when a guy with the more damaged face wins a decision despite the fact that they won more rounds. Hm. Weird.

    Defense
    Ring Generalship
    Clean Punching
    Effective Aggression
    Facial Damage?!

    Let's discuss this proposition.

Floyd would be undisputed GOAT if you combine the two (traditional and face damage scoring).

Never ever. Some guys just bruise and cut easier. It means absolutely nothing. Just a lazy excuse from idiots who cannot score a fight properly and resort to non existent things like "pressure intent" and facial appearance

It should be scored like what happened in the fight, not like what nationality the guys in the ring have.

Sadly nationality trumps skill too many times in boxing. Like last weekend.

It was just incompetence (The Perez fighT), the judges had it right for the Ward fight. Nothing to do with nationality.

No it wasn't. They were very competent in what they were doing and exactly what they planned beforehand. Scoring the fight in any way possible for the American boxers.

Pacquiao-Bradley II was a bigger robbery than the first fight. Just look at their faces!!

When things don't go your way, you can't just claim racism. That's not how it works.

It was a tremendously close fight, many had Kovalev winning, many had Ward winning. A SRL,Hagler type situation.

Hagler fans still cry to this day. That's just how it is.

If an Andre Ward sized Mayweather Jr. fought Ward, how many rounds would Ward win in a 12 and 15 round Championship bout?

Since 2011, Kovalev has fought 13 times in the US prior to fighting Ward. Try again.

Jr is more skilled than Ward/Kovalev combined.

Claiming that Ward won via racism is like saying Kovalev won via racism in Russia vs Chilemba.

Ridiculous. Has nothing to do with that.

This was a close fight and many had Ward winning a 114-113 type fight. End of.

How many rounds? Bear in mind that equal or lesser fighters do sometimes win rounds against Floyd.

Jr is the king of endurance, never seen that man tired. Probably 11-4 vs Kovalev in a 15 rounder, 9-3 vs Kovalev

    Beats Ward too

    8-4 Ward, 9-6 maybe 10-5 in a 15

    A Ward sized May ofc.

I'm also of the belief that Mayweather would be even harder to beat in the 15-round format; he was just tremendously conditioned. I also think Ward would have been super in the longer format, and Kovalev weaker.
