By this logic, The Herrera-Anchondo fight wasn't highway robbery and Santa Cruz should've been given the decision against Frampton.

    So no, it shouldn't.

No facial damage means nothing, different sport but George st Pierre always looked the worse off but it didn't have a bearing on success.
Apart from the knock down Ward wasn't on the end of a one sided beating as he gave as good as he got only he doesn't poses the same power,I had an idea it would be close as the two other genuine 50/50 fights this year in Thurman v Porter and Frampton v Cruz were close and so many had one over the other in those,I guess when things are tight between two really well matched guys judging becomes harder and it's a question of whose landing better quality punches, who is blocking more and making the other guy miss, who is smothering their own work, lots to think on and I always thought that who looks more aggressive to be a silly way of looking at things cause if that were so you'd have Pac up against Mayweather?

It's an ongoing occurrence when it comes to a lot of the watchers out there. The side cheering for the lost fighters will usually make this claim!!!

Yeah. If a headbutter like Ward can't cause more facial damage then he clearly lost.

No I think matches should be scored on a RBR basis, and by doing that, Kovalev still won.

    He won on punches landed.
He won in terms of rounds.
He won in terms of facial damage,
    He won.

No, never. If that would ever be the case, you might as well let kids be the judges!

Of course not otherwise Paul Briggs would have 2 wins over Tomasz Adamek instead of 2 losses. But regardless of that Kovalev still won 115-112.

As someone who thought Kovalev would pull out the win I can't agree with you Kovalev landed a grand total of 10 more punches which really could be attributed to having one big rd 10 shots is not enough to say he or anyone won a fight. if I land 100 punches and you 99 saying I won based off one landed shot is ridiculous.

Another point Ward did have some bruising on his face but Kovalev was bleeding from the mouth and nose almost the entire second half of the fight that also is facial damage a bloody nose just disappears faster than a black eye.

As far as rounds that is subjective I had it 8-4 Ward when I watched it sober but quite a few rds were close enough that they can be scored either way, so can't really comment on that lets just hope for a clearer rematch or maybe not and have a trilogy. good fight but robbery it certainly was not both guys have a case and most ppl who have scored the fight felt that a decision in the other direction isn't exactly a bad call even if they didn't agree.

Of course not. For obvious reasons....

Facial damage aside... I thought Kovalev won that fight close but clear.

The number of rounds doesn't really mean anything, because fighters will fight at the pace to sustain how many rounds necessary. More rounds will add to less punches I guarantee that. When rounds were switched to 12 you had more punches per round than you has at 15. The myth fighter A cant go that many rounds because he never did is overatted, boxers are highly conditioned and train for 12 rounds and at a pace they know they will last. you guys highly under estimate a fighters condition if you think it will favor one or the other because more rounds also means the harder puncher will reserve his energy in rounds 12 thru 15 and whos to say the other guy is not wearing out at the end of 12 rnds? both sides will use the 15 rnds to their advantage ,they will just fight at a slower pace, yes their are exceptions but more rounds could favor the guy who lands the harder shots as well . Making 15 rnds will encourage guys not to fight actually in case it goes past 12.
