Nah, don't get rid of it. Just split it up between black contenders and white contenders. Have fights to decide a champion each and then let the 2 champs fight a unification fight every year or two.

Yeah I know this idea has as much chance of happening as getting rid of the heavyweights altogether but what the hell..lol

There is a reason the words "big" and "dumb" sound so good together.

Try posting a thread about Abe Attell,Owen Moran, or some similar boxer and see how many responses you get!
I made a thread about Aussie middle weight Fred Hennenberry not one reply.
Made one proving Foreman was bigger than Louis, which is common knowledge, and should have been done and dusted in a page, its now on its 11 th page.Crazy!

Yes, that is my point. Make a topic on Packy McFarland, one of the most intriguing boxers of all time and... crickets. But at any time there are a dozen active "Who punched harder" heavyweight threads. And sometimes I just want to discuss boxing and am dragged into the morass.

This thread is ridiculous, and a reminder of how far from reality the forum can go.
All the other weight classes should cease to exist before the heavyweight division does.
Other weight classes are created to allow smaller talented men to compete.

The counter-culture vibes are so cringe.
We get it, you like that really underground flavor of ice cream that everyone else is too mainstream to know about.
    Awesome bro.

I don't like day before weigh ins. If LHW is 175, then I think fighters should be 175 on fight night. That's just me.

    Aww boo, frikkity hoo!

You guys are frustrated that people don't know about a subject you want them to know about?
And instead of educating people of this topic you are passionate about, you'd rather pine?

Can I join the crying session?
Where do we gather to cry about the hopelessness of matters we can easily influence and change?
Im so sad right now :(

No, but boxing should go back to the original 8 weight classes and one champion for each weight class. I get confused trying to keep up with every weight class and the champions for each. It makes my head hurt.

I for one think he'd beat both, even if he did have to give away an unheard of inch in height and a whopping 10-20 pounds in weight. It's not as if he didn't have boxing skills or punching power to make up for it

Introducing the two time IBF WBC title holder, three time back-to-back WBA World, and WBA Europe Intercontintnetal Title holding, defending championnnnn.....Glass Joe!!!

Yeah...the word champion means almost nothing in boxing anymore.
The mainstream caught onto this, so now they look for undefeated records.

This is thread is ridiculous but hundreds of threads of dick measuring heavyweight threads are insightful.

    Gotcha, brah.

And he is the champion of what? Right up there with Hagler and Hopkins.

He may well beat both giving away 1.5inches in height and 20lbs in weight,it would not be the first time he did so,but that was not the point of the thread.

    That’s what education is.
Teaching people something that they were unaware of before.

    Here’s the catch.
    People are free, sentient beings.
And you actually have to earn their attention.
