Dont get me wrong if there is a hyped fight Ill watch it, but just sitting their watching people hold all the time, cant do it? I would rather watch B-hop vs Winky all day

tv networks only show what people want to see and boxing popularity is pretty bad right now compared to about 15-10 years ago, before they took network boxing away.

promoters arent helping that issue much neither by showing fights on PPV that should be free to watch. Mosley v. Judah is a prime example of that. its all about money now and raping the little bit of fans boxing has now is what theyre contemped with doing.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Mosley-Judah should be on ESPN, or ABC, for all to see two great former champions and current contenders do battle.

Instead, they expects boxing fans to shell out fifty dollars (a ridiculous price altogether) to watch fights ranging from mediocre to fine.

Golden Boy Promotions, Bob Arum, I just don't see them stepping up. We need some new promoters out there, for the bettering of the sport in terms of mainstream sucess.

Still, Mayweather-De La Hoya did break box-office records, for what it was worth.

I might be the next great promoter and trust me I will try to negoiate fights on network TV. It's just common sense boxing in America is not as big as it use to be 1. corrupt Judging 2. UFC and MMA 3. Why should we demand that the best should fight the best, when they should know that **** 4. Tyson **** the sport up with the earbiting 5. THE IBO and NABF are legit belts along with the WBO

On the whole, people find the less restrictive rules of MMA more exciting, its just the way it is.

Don't get me wrong, I like both sports. Obviously MMA has been getting more attention as of late.

But I've got a special place in my heart for boxing. :yep

It will be once they see that nobody will buy a Direll vs Dawson on PPV, and a lsit of other fighters. More than likely HBO will lose money, plus venues will not sell out, trust me it doesn't look good for the sport we love. In the 80's boxing was probably the fourth biggest sport. Now golf is beating the sport :rofl. I said Golf

hbo 24/7 is definitely a fight hype builder. if a network could cut something like that, they might be able to market it

    Uh, yeah , um, well
I am sure those promoters and managers hound the networks but their pleas fall on deaf ears. Tv goes where sponsors will pay. Sponsors will pay for what the viewers will watch.
IN THE U.S. THERE ARE NO VIEWERS FOR BOXING! Thus no sponsors, thus no network TV. MMA has the viewers in the U.S. Period!
