Anyone that calls Brook a quitter is an idiot theyve obviously never boxed. How I wish Tony Margarito had retired against Pac. His bravery really cost him his career along with A POS's lies. Pinky Cotto still couldn't LEGITIMATELY beat him despite him only having one good eye
he had to quit on his own, I blame his **** stain of a trainer who was being begged by him to throw in the towel. anyone who couldn't see very clearly brook was begging **** stain for the towel is as lost as the worst trolls on the web. he made the right choice, he couldn't defend himself and was getting bodies non-stop. that's why he quit, the eye was his savior. Spence beat that boi into submission, the best way to win. leaves zero doubt, nothing can ever be said !!!
Brook did quit but I'm not going to knock him for it, it's not like he gave up his title without a fight, he was hurt pretty bad and didn't have anything left.
No shame for Brook you don't want to risk going blind. It wasn't a Danni Geales type of quit job at the first sign of trouble. Brook could of stayed down in the 10th but he got up and gave it one last ditch effort and that is all he had left. Agree with those saying corner should of stopped it. When Brook took the knee the towel should of come in.
There is a difference between being hurt and suffering a serious injury. An eye socket is a serious injury, no less serious than Sugar Ray Leonard's detached retina. Had Brook not been properly informed by the doctors about his injury against Golovkin, he may have not know it was time to take a knee. What could have happened with a broken orbital bone is that a bone chip floating around in there gets hit and could puncture the eyeball. Brook is young enough to get it fixed and continue his career if he chooses to. With titanium on both sides, he should have those injuries behind him for good. With that said, Brook was exhausted and didn't have enough left to keep Spence off of him. Spence was relentless and would have kept throwing brutal shots until the final bell.
He didnt quit because of his eye he quit because he was on his way to getting stopped. He had an out and he took it.
In the context of his previous injury and fighting after Groves on the card, who has been entwined with the whole unfortunate Gutknecht incident, we should be glad that he took a knee. Quitting or not (common sense for me given the severity and risk of injury), we should just be glad that all fighters went home with their health protected, and on top of that we saw some great fights and sport.
Only Brook himself would know if he couldn't see, like he claimed. It did look like the eye was troubling him though, because he kept squaring up so as he could focus on Spence with his good eye.
Brook is done at the top level, he is going to be targeted and people will just keep banging those eyes Wouldn't be surprised if he gets stopped by someone far less talented next time out Jojo Dan might get his revenge
