Only if you want the IBHofF to mean nothing.

Wait, what am I saying? Throw him in.

Tyson is probably the biggest hype job in boxing . Now don't get that twisted, he was a very good fighter, but at the time he was being dubbed "The baddest man on the planet".
People make so many excuses for this guy. Bottom line is that elite fighters don't lose their focus and turn into what Tyson did. That is why they are elite and Tyson was not. He was spoon fed a string of Don King manipulated top contenders and beat a previously retired Holmes that basically did it for the money.
He was a good fighter but at heavyweight required careful matchmaking. As a Cruiser he would have been a force.

Ridiculous. I'm no fan boy but he was absolutely elite. What careful matchmaking? He fought every top fighter in the 80s except Spoon and Holy. Buster was probably the 10 best fighter he faced.

On merit? Absolutely not. But with the abysmally low standards of the Boxing HOF, he'll probably get in at some point.

100%. That one win is HoF worthy regardless of what he did before or after...

Douglas definitely belongs to be in the HoF. He pulled off the biggest upset in boxing history. No ones saying he's an ATG or the best HW ever. We're saying he's a HoF based on his performance, the outcome of the fight, & the circumstances he faced going into the fight.

    It's a no from me.

Causing one big upset in boxing is not HOF worthy.

Buster will always be remembered for beating Tyson and that's a good accolade in its self.

The Douglas/ Tyson upset has been and will continue to be used as a yard stick for big upsets.

    Isnt Braddock in?

Hes the victor of one of the most talked about and known fights in boxing history. His name is a verb. So he has something going for him.

Would that mean every huge upset is HOF worthy?
