Should Bute have been counted out against Andrade?

Just watched this fight. If you count normally Bute is up on his feet and wobbling badly at 10. Any ref probably would have stopped it like that. But that idiot who was in the ring for some reason turned his back and started shouting at Andrade to get into his corner.

What do you reckon. Should Bute have a loss on his record?

no question about it he should

and I know abunch of Canadiens are gonna storm this thread with their "oh he was on his feet before the count of 10" but the matter of the fact is you cannot be saved by the bell in any round including the 12th and final round,Marlon Wright didnt even look at Bute.

Yes he definately should have been counted out, he was knocked out. Even the ref said that if Andrade stayed in his corner (which I think is bull****, cause he was only giving Bute time to recover) he would have won the fight.

Thats why I think its a disgrace when people call Bute the best supermiddle in the world, when he was knocked out by somebody Kessler toyed with for 12 rounds. And even if he knocked him out the second fight, doesnt mean they should put him as number 1. I have him as the 3´rd best, behind Ward and Kessler.

Absolutely not, it is a very old rule in boxing that the count does not start until the fighter scoring the knock down goes to the corner the referee directs him to.

PS-in case you were wondering I have no rooting interest in either Bute or Andrade.

Bute ´s knockout is more clear than Taylors. Taylor got up at the count of 6 I think, Bute was up at the count of 9 or 10 and his eyes were gone while he was holding the ropes. Andrade was robbed in that fight, the ref was a disgrace.

Contrary to what Showtime, HBO and most US media have been saying since that fight. Librado Andrade did leave the neutral corner and made it almost halfway across the ring before the ref ordered him back to the neutral corner.

Yes you NUT HUGGER, BUT THE RULES ALSO SAY EVEN YOU GET UP BEFORE 10 YOU MUST SHOW YOU ARE ABLE TO CONTINUE YIOUR BOXING. BUTE WAS NOT.

Bute was TKO'ed in that Fight.

I think most of us know what the rules say, but the ref only used it to buy Bute time, it wasnt because of the rules. Had it been a different ref, he would have counted Bute out, because Andrade was (as in this picture) not even close to Bute. Andrade walked slowly back because he knew Bute was on his way up and wanted to finish him of had he gone up. The ref was like 5-6-7 GO BACK TO YOUR CORNER..... 1-2-3

Bute was visibly hurt but he managed to keep himself up by will power and determination.
Bute should have been Counted when he leand on the ropes that should have given him time to recover instead of taking continuous punishment that had led to the last second KD
Andrade was closer to the middle of the ring coming towards Bute .. the referee did the right thing ... you don't see this in the official showtime cameras recording but u see it in here [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTxdVTmLIkY[/ame]
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66CO0lksoEo&feature=related[/ame]
Bute got up not knowing how much time he had left(in an interview he said he had no idea how much time was left in the match) ... he looked to his trainer thinking that's it he lost but Larouche told him to get up , with a last effort he struggled to get in fighting position thinking he was up for more. Was it moral to give the victory to Andrade who only won 1 round after the champion dominated the fight got KD and got up and was in a fighting position with no second left in the fight ?

3.When a contestant is knocked down, the referee shall audibly announce the count as he motions with his right arm downward indicating the end of each second of the count.

    4. When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until the standing contestant has returned to the neutral corner.

    5. Three (3) knockdowns in any one round do not automatically terminate the fight. If in the referee's judgment, which must be keen and decisive, the knockdowns have been indecisive and clearly have no injurious effect upon the boxer, the contest may continue but with good sense and judgment and the boxer's welfare always paramount.

    6. The bell will not save a boxer in any round of the bout.If a boxer is "downed" just before the 3-minute bell in any round, the referee's count shall continue and the bell will not ring until the boxer rises and his hands clear the floor.

So according to those rules... Bute won. ugh... But the ref should have stopped it earlier when bute was wobblying his way around the ring. Anyway.
