Joe still looks great in there. He is awful close. Must be very tempting, what should he do?

I was thinking the same thing myself. He should do it and break it by one fight.

He needs to fight decent competitors though. I would laugh if he fought 4 bums and broke the record lol

Here they are: Glen Johnson, Taylor, Dawson, Hopkins II

Glen Johnson is the man to beat. IMO this guy is underrated and gets screwed over on the cards in every fight. Johnson is a great fighter and a great person and would deserve a decent paycheck.

This sounds like heresy, AF (insanity to some), but I'd love to get your opinion:

How do you think Joe would have done fighting Rocky at cruiser? He's taller, with a longer wingspan, and the bones to carry 12 more pounds -- the Rock's best weight.

You know, if JC went with your plan (which imo he would lose at LEAST one of those fights.... but imo would deserve respect even in defeat for attempting to fight those names) I would be FORCED to hail JC as a truly great fighter.....

For me, right now, hes a very very good fighter... and his most impressive victory still to me is Kessler, followed by Hopkins.... if he added GJ, Dawson, Taylor and then beat Hopkins in a rematch... dear lord hed be a beast. It wont happen but one can dream..... if he said that that was his plan id even root for him in every fight (but the hopkins one) lol, just cuz he had the stones do attempt it. GJ is nothing nice....

At 2 fights a year, which is what he's doing these days, he's still a while off...

Yep, Lopez gets nowhere near the credit he deserves he was 51-0-1 (technical draw) and beat the guy in his next fight IIRC.

    Calzaghe announces next 3 fights!
Welsh sensation Joe Calzaghe has officially announced that he will make a run at Rocky Marciano's iconic 49-0 record. His recent wins over the legendary Roy Jones Jr. and perennial champion Bernard Hopkins were merely icing on a cake that already included names like Peter Manfredo Jr. and Tocker Pudwill.

Calzaghe has no doubt stepped up to "stiffer" competition in his last 2 bouts and he will continue to add LEGENDARY names to his resume with his next 3 fights.

First up is light heavyweight legend Dwight Muhammad Qawi who at 55 years old is still plenty spry. They say that punching power is the last thing to go. Well, that and control of your bowels.

Second in line is none other than Michael Spinks. While we last saw Spinks at Mike Tyson's feet back in '88 rumor has it that he's been training and the 20 year period of inactivity has served him well.

Last but not least, in his 49th and final bout the opponent for the historic record tying bout will be The Old Mongoose, Archie Moore! Now I know what you're saying, "didn't he die?" Well leave it to Super Joe Calzaghe to achieve the impossible. Enzo Calzaghe has already arranged for the remains of Archie Moore to be exhumed for the December 25, 2009 showdown. Moore's corpse will be dangled from the rafters to the center of the ring where Calzaghe will slap it and dance for 12 uneventful rounds on his way to his 49th victory.

A resume that includes not only Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins, but ALSO Spinks, Qawi & Moore will leave the Americans NO CHOICE but to acknowledge Joe Calzaghe as the official "legend killer" and the undisputed G.O.A.T.
