No point in fighting meaningless fights. There's money in fights against Pavlik, Taylor & RJJ. The Dawson fight would prove LHW superiority. Other than maybe Bute & the fighters mentioned Iwouldn't want 2 see him fight anyone else.

I tihnk he should go for it but not sure if guys like Erdie, Dawson will be the preferred path.

I think he should fight Hopkins, Jones, Pavlik and 3 other fringe contenders (just fot statistics) then retire. He will initially be remembered at top 10 GOAT. Then eventually many will argue he is top 10, top5 and within 5 years time, many will start throwing his name among guys like SRR, Armstrong, etc. That is always the way it is.

I'm sure Mario Veit could be brought in a few more times so he could reach that number.

Love the avatar silver wings is my favourite soprano.:deal

I think he should try for the 50-0 if he can still be motivated to fight once he has taken care of B Hop.

Seen a lot of Jimmy Wilde have you?

On topic, Joe could do this if he wanted to. Although each fight he takes against young prime guys increases his chance of losing. Besides, after Mary and Taylor/Pavlik winner there will be nothing to prove

As far as I am aware Joe had to take that fight, Dan. What would you have done in the same situation of fighting Viet or getting stripped? Refused to fight him because he's crap?

If he has it in him to do this, he would fire right up the ATG list. Above Hopkins actually.

Wont happen though, he would be doing well after beating Hopkins to beat Dawson and Woods. I think those are the three fights he should have

    Hopkins,Dawson and Woods.

Eh? Who's whinging? It's usually the Americans who are whinging about Calzaghe, if anything.

Secondly, I appreciate Floyd's talent, but I'd much prefer to watch Calzaghe because he's less defence-based and less boring. I'm not sure what there is to argue with. :huh It's just a preference. Am I misunderstanding something here?

Joe was bigger than the WBO he could have dumped them & still been recognised as number one at 168 by most people. I see your point though.

    Alright then, cool.

I know Calzaghe gets bored unless he has a decent challenge ahead of him. He probably didn't even want that fight! Same as Manfredo. It was better to to take the Manfredo fight than not, though, if not for the name recognition in the States, the payday was worth it.

Didn't Joe bet 10K on himself to knock Veit out in the first round again?
