This will allow Canelo to fight for the belt and Benavidez to prove he earned it.

    Canelo will still swerve

Plus if he does win he has to face either Bivol (and get schooled again) or Beterbiev (get sent to hospital)

Actually, I would say that Canelo already knows this, it´s why he is taking the fights he is taking.
Bivol basically killed any ambition Canelo had, since then he has just coasted from one fight camp to another. And watching his interviews, he only seems exited about a fight when the opponent is a brawler more than a conventional boxer.

Canelo said years ago that he would retire at 37, well he is going to be 35 by the time he fights Crawford, and he will be 36 by the time his 4 fight Saudi deal ends.
I for one no longer expect Canelo to venture to 175 again, even if Turki offers him a ridiculous purse.

    Nah.

Canelos not a light heavyweight and I really dont have a desire to see him fight there.

If someone cant fight him at Canelos genuine division, I dont need to see the fight.

How much more do you need to see to understand Canelo won't fight Benavidez ever,

The Crawford fight is really exciting. Canelo needs to fight Crawford. If Canelo wins or doesn't lose too badly then he should consider giving the latinos opportunities to fight him, first Teofimo Lopez and then Ryan Garcia.

They should have fought and won't because Canelo's career is full of ducks or gifts. Canelo is the least-Mexican fighter out there as he has no cahones. I remember JCC going out on his shield fighting killers like ODLH and Kostya Tszyu, when he was clearly past prime.

Without risking his 168 hardware this fight would make a lot more sense for Canelo. He'd make a lot of money and no one expects him to beat Benavidez at this point so he'd get credit for simply being competitive. Or rather he'd lose some of the stigma hes gotten for not fighting him.

    Canelo-Benavidez will happen eventually.

I appreciate what Canelo is doing. Just by eye test Canelo is better in every category except height.

When they fight Canelo will 100% be the favorite. Why? Because Canelo has already fought elite level power punchers, he's fought world class slicksters, and at 168+ everyone is taller than him.

So how exactly is Benavidez going to beat him? DB is not more accurate than Bivol by any means, nor is he stronger, and DB does not have more power than GGG or Kovalev.

Canelo is going to wait until one of his last fights to fight DB which benefits DB.

Can't hate on Canelo, he has fought everyone we wanted too
