Should Canelo get the props for fighting in middleweight division? I know he has the weight on him but he is naturally a small middleweight looking at his frame. Smallest without a doubt when you consider the elite or high-tier boxers in the division. So should he get the props for fighting in MW? People at his height fight in 135: look at linares for example. Linares even might be taller than Canelo.
He could hardly make it in his last fight at 154, without drugtesting, and he made that weight once since 2013. You don't get props for fighting at the lowest weight you can legitimately make.
He comes in the ring at like 180lbs what are you on about, he's huge. Dont be fooled by his frame and height, he's stocky as hell.
Actually he's a CW almost & his short height can be to his advantage because his opponents are punching down! Which is more awkward for them! Canelo walks around at over 180lbs I suspect.. @Serge you're the font on this stuff
Not sure what his walk around weight is but he obviously walks around at 180 or more and he's been coming into the ring at 170 and over going back 5 years ago 2013 Canelo 172 - Trout 171 2014 Canelo 171 - Lara 166 Canelo 174 - Angulo 170 - some sources say those weights are the wrong and it was Clenelo who weighed 170 and Angulo 174 And those fights were all at 154 AFAIA, his fight night weights haven't been announced since then Kirkland Melon Head Miguel Khan Smith Chavez GGG So he was coming it at 170 or above 5 years ago and he's obviously bulked and Hulked up since then after ingesting, injecting, bathing in, soaking his gloves in etc. industrial amounts of Clenbuterol since he came to the realization that he could never beat GGG without artificially enhancing himself with PEDs, even the older, past his best version he'd been waiting for years to see signs of decline in.
He's thick. There is no doubt about that. If it is true that he is coming in at 170+ on fight night then he probably does walk around at around 180, which is amazing when you consider he is only 5'8" and in excellent shape. Every day I lose 7 pounds in water weight when I work out. A lot of people don't believe it but I have an app and a scale that tracks everything. It is amazing what the body can do, weight up, weight down. It's all water weight for me. I swim 2500 meters and then get on the elliptical trainer and burn 1000 calories doing 6+ miles. Canelo works a lot harder than that so no doubt he can drop 10 pounds easily. I weigh about 190 but I can easily go from 193 to 183 in a matter of hours. (But I'm also 6'4".)
Haven't you read what this forum has been telling you? Canelo is a legitimate cruiserweight. I rate him just behind Usyk and Gassiev at the weight. Lets see if he can squeeze down and make some good bouts for us at light heavy before that train leaves the station. A true giant. Saul "Goliath" Alvarez.
