No, that´s revenue. And the 500k is just rumored.
And I seriously doubt we are still in the days of networks taking 50%. Add to that at least a 10 million dollar gate and everyone made a buck.
*The live gate tickets were set up so that a sold out venue would be 20 million.

This is why Canelo will stick around. He can still pull off enough buys to justify his paydays.

“selective,” in other words, business as usual!

If they paid me $30M per fight, I wouldn't retire either.

No matter how rich they are, people want to earn more as they keep earning. Greed is in human nature.

Canelo could make another $250M in next 5 years. He's only 35.

If he's not gonna fight Benavidez then he might as well tbh.

It wasn't about the weight. Bivol wanted the belts if he won.

Canelo doesn't want the belts on the line.

Canelo is a national hero like Pac in the Philippines.

People are going to buy his fights and that generates bucks.

Some will be serious boxing fans and some will just be out to support their national hero.

Whatever their motivation for watching, they will pay and that generates bucks.

I reckon he should move down to bantamweight and fight Inoue then move up to heavy and fight Usyk, then call it a day.

    2 more fights.

If Canelo wants to continue to fight, then he should continue to fight...PERIOD. He's competing well and making great money while doing so. Who are we to say he's made enough. And a lot of people still question his legacy (as they do Floyd's) so I wouldn't say it's cemented.

And the end of the day, until the fighter feels he can't compete, doesn't have the drive, and/or have accomplished all he can or set out for.........then that fighter should continue to look forward to getting in the ring.

    Canelo's drive is amazing.\

Put it this way: if I had 30 million in the bank, I'd lose the drive ...lol

Canelo has his fans and detractors but his fights continue to sell and selling fights is what generates cash for all involved.

Generating cash is why Canelo gets away with what he does.

Pro boxing is a business with the trappings of being a sport. Think of it as a real sport and you will always be frustrated and angry.

Canelo has many fans you would probably consider casuals but he's a hero and star. They'll watch him fight and believe he's the greatest boxer since Julio Cesear Chavez.

Canelo should do whatever it is Canelos do. If he still wants to fight, fight.
