Should he completely disregard the weight? Why or why not?Would floyd and his people try to make Canelo sweat off the two pounds if he comes in at 154?What so you think?

i don't think he should completely disregard the weight, but i would rather see him try and make the weight and give a competitive fight than come in dehydrated and drained and give a miserable performance. i actually think he will not have a problem making weight, he has a nutritionist and is working hard to shed the weight. for canelos sake i hope he does the right thing and takes the weight seriously.

If he comes in over the limit then Floyd's titles would not be on the line in all likelyhood. The guy is what, 23 years old. There's no reason he can't make weight at his age if he eats and trains right. I would think for the biggest fight of his career, he'd be sure to make weight.

There's no doubt he'll be in the mid 160's on fight night.

That whole fkn' Mayweather clan have ALL said, weight don't win fights, skills do" so if CA comes in at the division weight, there REALLY shouldn't be a problem. You can't have it both ways.

He should come in at the true weight for the division like Floyd did to Marquez...

It depends on the penalty for coming in over the limit and how much it will take out of him to sweat of those extra two pounds. If it's $200k and two pounds is the difference between him being totally drained, I'd advise him to pay the penalty and come in at 154. It's not as if they're gonna cancel the fight the night before if he does... Plus they're fighting for 154lb titles, so that should be the weight limit as far as I'm concerned.

The penalty is well over $1MM per pound according to Schaefer. So if Alvarez is comfortably losing $2MM+, then he should come it at 154 lbs. However, the guy is used to cutting weight. If I were in his camp, I'd advise him to try to cut the extra weight.

What choice did he have? The contract stipulated a penalty for a fighter coming in over the agreed upon limit... It didn't give JMM the option of canceling the fight the night before because Mayweather did.

I don't think the Mayweather camp really gives a dam cause the 152 off came from the Canelo camp and they just accepted it. As long as he doesn't exceed the 154 then he can pay that 2 mill and still get that ass tapped. It's not the weight gents, it's the skill. Mayweather been kicking big boys asses for years and Canelo is about to be added to the list.

You sound like you will believe whatever the mayweather camp says."The 152 pound catchweight came from Alvarez's camp".How do you know that?Because Leonard ellbebe said it?Mayweather sr said about a week after the alvarez fight,The fight must take place at 147,or no fight.http://www.mlive.com/mayweather/index.ssf/2013/05/trainer_floyd_mayweather_wants.html

  13. He hired a nutrionist and a s&c coach for this bout. Not sure who.

  14. I think canelo should come in at 154. **** it. Viva JMM
