Should Canzoneri really rank ahead of Jimmy McLarnin?

    Well let's put it this way M2S, that McLarnin was a 7-5 favourite in the rematch despite Tony beating him down in their first fight should let you know just where people thought both fighters were at after Tony lost quite wide to Ambers in the lead up to the McLarnin rematch (after having beat Ambers quite convincingly in their first fight).

    I think that their resumes are dammed close but Canzoneri is more accomplished if that makes any sense. Even if McLarnin could have won those titles his choosing not to go after them (and he had perfectly good reasons not too) effects his legacy. But there's not much between them. Espn classic gave their first match the other day. Canzoneri gave him hell.

    Oh what's that. Why yes I am commenting on an ancient thread as though its current. Its allowed.

    Jimmy's ww resume is staggering and he might be a greater ww than canz is a lw but canz just did more in his career overall.
