Obviously he's past his best, and will accomplish little more.

Has he done enough to be worthy of the HOF?

The standards of the boxing HOF are very low, this is true - but I surely hope not THAT low.

    Nope.

His career should have gone much better but it went off the rails at some point. Shame really after he beat Adamek I expected more from him.

Dawson was a good boxer, but perhaps lacking a fighters' mentality.

Well his resume was p4p solid by the time he beat Hopkins but never HOF worthy.

I voted yes, a very good fighter who beat Hopkins easily.

Screwed up by going down to 168.

After his performance last night the hall of shame is more apt.
He got BEAT plain & simple. Sure he hurt his shoulder ,or claimed to, but it sure didn't stop him trying his throw downs WWE style. He tried twice to pick up Karpency like he did Hopkins to throw him down.
What a cry baby :|:| You lost take it like a man. Karpency deserved the win

For what? The only achievement that makes he stand out from any other short term strap holder is beating Hopkins.

Hopkins may be a legend, and beating him is something not many have done, but that alone does not a HOFer make, IMO.

I'm have to assume that thread was started in a cynical frame of mind however, given Chad's loss to the very average Karpency last night.

Why not? There are Brittards on this forum making a case for Ricky Hatton and his call to fame was fouling a past his Kostya Tszyu into retirement.

Norton has a win over the greatest heavyweight of all time and arguably beat him 3 times, aswell as losing a close fight against another great in Larry Holmes, nobody will be talking about Chad dawson in ten years time.
