Why not? Arturo Gatti got in, and Dawson's resume and in ring accomplishments are infinitely better.

    No.

Just didn't do enough in the ring, didn't have enough social impact outside of it, and wasn't enough of a fan favorite. Being an overwhelming yes in one area can overcome a weakness, but none of his arguments for "yes" are compelling enough to overshadow what he lacked.

Good fighter, though. Very good on his best days.

Gatti was a FIGHTER heart of a lion but please tell me how Stallone ,a B movie actor that apparently started in porn movies, gets inducted????
He also got a statue erected for him in Philly

Whats your criteria? I Wouldn't vote him in, but guys like Gatti, McGuigan and Laszlo Papp are in so he has a case for induction.

Ricky Hatton will get in and deservedly so. Besides being a very good fighter his popularity was immense. Far lesser fighters have been inducter than either Dawson or Hatton.

He's a few wins shy I think... If he has a resurgence, and can somehow pick up a strap again then maybe.

Because a fighter can get a bunch of drunks to cheer for him does not make him hall of famer. The Hall of fame is reserved for the VERY BEST and neither Hatton or Dawson are in that category.

Hatton was club fighter who only provided highlight reels for great fighters like Mayweather and Pac. Do you know that Hatton was the last fighter both Pac and Mayweather (**** the ortiz fight) KO'd. Think of all the fighters Pac and Mayweather have fought since Hatton and have never came close to knocking out, then you realize how overrated that English bum was.

Hatton beat some good fighters including at least two HOFers and one ATG. He was far from a club fighter. The fact that he had such a huge fanbase makes him a lock. Was he an elite fighter like Pac or Floyd? No. But there are plenty of fight inducted into the IBHOF with worse credentials than Hatton including 3 i already named. Why no uproar over them?

Which two hall of famers did Hatton beat? I think you desperately reaching it if you think Tszyu is an all time great. In fact I'm surprised Tszyu was able to make the hall of fame. He's another overrated fighter with mediocre record. who did Tszyu beat to become this all-time great. Zab fuccking JudaH?:patsch

Jose Luis Catetillo is not an all-time great if that's who you're talking about. Besides, Hatton fought a washed up version of Castello.

Seriously why do you Brits overrate your athletes. You will hardly find anyone here in America who thinks Dawson is a hall of fame fighter and he has a better boxing record than than Hatton.:patsch

come on. chad had the potential but he didn't fully realise it to get into HoF. just a very good fighter but weak longevity.

ricky hatton is a possibility for HoF but hes not quite done enough yet, hes kinda got to the door and knocked on it - boxing related coaching might for instance get him in on aggregate acheivements, or making Hatton promotions into something bigtime.

It will take training Thomas Hearns level of fighter from the ground up for Hatton to make the hall.

The hall is a place for the very best of our sports and Hatton has no business being in that discussion. Its sad watching the bar being leveled down each and every year in order to accommodate mediocre fighters.

Let me ask you HerolGee. Do you think Jermain Taylor is hall of fame? Don't forget Taylor beat Winky Wright and Bernard Hopkins.
