I think he should he does not have the size and strength to deal with guys like the Klitschkos, Valuev, and probably even Chagaev. He didn't have enough for Povetkin!

Crusierweight would give him a much better chance for a title plus there is a lot of exciting fights that could be made in that division with Adamek, Cunningham, Wlodarczyk, and maybe even Byrd or Haye.

He's doing fine right now= go for Wlad or Vitali ( this way Vitali can be accused of ducking Haye:D

No. He was in great shape with his weight at 209. Moving to cruiserweight would not only bring him less money, but it would also take away his biggest asset which is his speed.

consensus seems to be no. alrighty then.

then should he after he fights wlad (im assuming an absolute drubbing at the hands of wlad) ?

If he consistently finds a way to get past Wlad's jab and if his chin is good enough, who knows?

man i just dont see it. coz even if he does do a decent job of slipping wlads jab, itd take 90% of his attention.

and we all know what that means (right hands).

its kinda pick ur poision vs wlad. and chambers isnt ultra quick on his feet, lateral movement would be important if slipping was his strategy.

No he is doing just fine as a heavyweight. He's already showed he is one of the top fighters in the division so he'll be picking up big fights for a few years to come. Big heavyweight fights dwarf big cruiserweight fights in money and recognition.

If Eddie's team is smart... they would be fighting tooth and nail to get him a shot against Valuev.

If he can get to 205 he can almost certainly get to 199, but why would he want too? I didn't see the fight as it wasn't televised here but scores that wide show he can obviously hang with guys bigger than him. I doubt he'd be able to beat either Klitschko but he'd make more money losing to either one than he would for 5 defences of the undisputed cruiserweight title, so why not stay at heavy. If he could upset a Klitschko he'd become a huge star as the new American face of heavyweight boxing, he'll never be a star no matter who he beats at cruiser.

If he's after titles, most definitely. Klitschkos are the HW rulers, I don't see him beating either of them.

But if he's after the money, he should force his mandatory position vs. Wlad and go out on his shield.

Anyways, good to see Eddie's in shape, good luck to him! :thumbsup

No. He has proven he can be competitive with just about anyone at Heavyweight where the money is bigger than Cruiseweight.

No! He just put himself in the front of the line as challenger for HW Champ. More money, more prestige although I think he would be CW Champ if he went down there :good

If you're as used to being faster than your opponents as Chambers is, then moving down to fight smaller, quicker guys might turn out to be very dissapointing. Ask Chris Byrd. Besides, why give up on a good thing? Chambers is on a roll right now, he's earned himself a spot among the top 5 heavyweights and great opportunities await him. Why walk away from that? Sure, Wlad Klitschko might destroy him, but in life you have to gamble if you want to achieve, especially in boxing life.
Also i think there's a psychological factor. With a shot at the HW title in sight, can he walk away from that and go to CW to fight for lesser stakes? I think it would hurt his motivation, with his HW-championship desires and competitive fire burning him alive from the inside out (ok that sounded a little too dramatic probably, but you get the point).

That, and fighting at heavy you get to eat more McDonalds.
