doesn't sound good at all...it's not worth continuing if his health or life is in danger...he's got nothing left to prove...he had his time as a HW boxer...maybe now is the time to retire.

Cant do anything but shake my head here:-(

WHO TF? Carries the valium/MORPHINE Concoction to the dressing room? Was it really a Quactitioner that dosed a guy just Ko'd with that combo? If so?? That calls for a little medical review.

I salute Byrd's efforts despite the outcome. I think its perfectly clear its time 2 end the career. Glad he's been released, wish him well.

Chris caught a mean shellacking. That doesn't necessarily mean one should retire, but in his case it does as his defense was his chief asset. Minus a good defense if Chris continues there'll be plenty more where last night came from.

Byrd should drop down to welter and fight Cotto.

    The poll is there.

I think he should announce his retirement right away!

    Yes.

But i feel bad for him because he probably lost at least a couple of million bucks by making a bad business decision and not taking a true tune up fight but a pretty good contender. If he had just beaten a real tune up guy, he might've gotten a huge fight with RJJ. You feel bad because he literally threw away millions because of this one mistake.

no, he should take some time, weigh the pros and the cons, and then take the decision that he feels is best. Retiring right away as an impulse reaction to losing this recent fight would be a mistake imo

Are you suggesting he should fight again?

What I'm suggesting is that he take his time to make the decision rather than just jump to conclusions.

There's nothing to think about... rushing into the hospital unconscious is a sign that you should retire immidiately because your career as a figher able to win vs. any kind of competition is over.

I believe he's done enough in boxing, and besides it's a lot harder to slip lhw punches when you are used to seeing heavyweights throwing punches which come at you much slower. It's too late to adjust he's too old.

    should he retire now? YES!!!!!

he looked totally spent the other night, whether it is down to the huge weight loss leaving him weak we dont know!!!

he has been the champ, nothing left to prove, good luck to him in whatever he decides to do!!!
