thats true but the difference is, Williams is 6'2 fighter with a heavyweight reach who's fight as high as middleweight Cotto's 5'7 and has the same reach as Pacman who fought as low as flyweight, so right off that bat he knew he was at a disadvantage so you cant say that "well Williams beat him, so Cotto could of just done the same thing" hell, if Cotto had the same physical advantage as Williams did, he'd of blown all his opponents out of the water with Cotto's size he knew he'd have to take alot of punishment in order to win, something that was never a problem for a Williams given his physical status the problem is, was he taking punishiment that no fighter should of had to expereince, was it punishment from hardened fists?
I was thinking the same thing. Nothing was said before or after the Cotto fight so all we have as evidence is Cotto's face, Anything else is speculation.
He was the favorite to win the bout given Shane's age as well as his loss to Cotto who Marg had demolished. Why would Margarito start cheating against somebody who was tauted as a tune-up fight for him??? Either he knows he can't beat Shane or he had been doing this cheating for quite sometime. Logical time to start cheating is when you're the underdog (against Cotto) and not when youre the overwhelming favorite to win!!!...
Its called Pound for Pound, not Inch for Inch, Cotto still weighs near 160 on fight night, and is 160 a month before his fight. Is Toney you no1 P4P? And all this the problem is, was he taking punishiment that no fighter should of had to expereince, was it punishment from hardened fists? NO, it was punnishment from having a leaky defense, getting hit in the face a few 100 times while sitting on the bottom rope from round 5-round 11, nah your right those 500 punches would've done F all damage if the gloves weren't loaded :-(
Firstly cotto was always in the p4p, secondly how do we know that he used this in the Cotto fight?Surley his gloves would have been checked then aswell. As much as I am a Cotto fan i think we have to give that defeat to margarito's punching power and poor game plan by Cotto.
Cotto's trainer doesn't even train him at camp, and you think he would take the initiative that Nazim took to check Margarito's wraps? no way in hell, i'm 99% sure all that "he gets stronger as the fight goes on" is only due to the plaster hardeining as the fight goes one, the mans a fraud
True, but he did say over and over that he was going to knock out Shane. He wanted to be the first to stop him. I am pretty convinced he used loaded gloves for the Cotto fight and other fights. Didn't the Panama Lewis fiasco teach anyone anything?
****in hell, It hasnt been proved he did anything illegal in this fight yet, so no, im not gonna even start questioning other fights until the results come back from the commision.
It doesnt matter who you had winning. Your scoring was wrong. Cotto beat Mosley in a close but CLEAR decision. Get over it.
