Or should he take a relatively easy tune up bout???

If you were his manager what would you push for??

    Let' discuss

I dont think that it is wise to put him in there with an undefeated young lion at this time he had a tough fight in loosing to Margarito and his confidence needs to be rebuilt.

If he gets caught with something clean then how prepared mentally and physically will he be to deal with that??

We don't know, but a tune up fight would tell us.

If a Berto offer came along, I wouldn't think twice about signing if I was Cotto.

Cotto should aim for that fight. He beats Berto and would gain a belt in the process

Yes, no tune up fights for Cotto, those are a waste of time. He should fight and beat Berto.

Cotto needs a tuneup/confidence booster before he steps back in with the divisions elite IMO. I think he should fight a guy like Collazo or Estrada that will still give him a competitive fight but are still beatable....

considering cotto's choice of opponents over the last few years i don't think anyone would begrudge him an 'easy' opponent in the meantime.

This is no tuneup infact it would be a great fight for divison. This fight should be made ASAP instead of Cotto-Margo 2.

He's a fantastic composite puncher and Berto is very open, with a suspect/untested chin and he's sometimes off balance. I think Cotto would knock him out.

I know Cotto can win this one but there is always that risk involved. I dont think Berto can finish off people hes like a Clottey thats easier to hit. Cotto would take this on points and win a belt. I would fight a tune up first we dont know what Cotto is working with now, put him in with Collazo or Cintron.

After a knockout like he suffered Cotto does need a tune-up type of fight before stepping up.

Berto's not an easy fight for anyone, including Cotto. What Miguel needs is another Alphonso Gomez type fight before throwing him back to the lions. Cotto's had a lot of tough fights!
