Should Cotto fight Berto if the opportunity is there?

I feel that this is a mistake for if Berto's team. Allowing Berto to fight Cotto at this stage in his career is a really bad idea.

Berto's defense is suspect, and you better believe that Cotto will put his body to the test.

Good point, however, Cotto is still in the pound 4 pound scene. Taking a step back with a tune up fight will not do much for him at this stage. He needs to get back in and assert his presence, especially after Maragrito. Cotto's performance against Tony was nothing to be ashamed of. He just tried to knock out a guy that can't be knocked out.

 

I think Cotto should fight Baldomir. Then fight Berto, or Clottey, and then the winner of Margo/Williams.

I think it's a perfect fight for him right now...


Berto is a glorified undefeated boxer who has become known to casual boxing fans because of his exposure on HBO...I think Cotto would beat him and I think it would be an entertaining fight.
